souldierz
Dude, the Demo for Kharkov is bugged for me.The mouse pointer is inaccurate and the screen is not centered, so i can't see some options, or find a way to click them.I had the same problem with the Theater Of War demo also a while back.Damn Dude,Vista can be a real downer sometimes.
Runyan99
Actual submarines. It's the only way. I have it on good authority that Ubi is considering shipping their games with a USB rectal probe. The games will only work as long as the probe is firmly inserted and reading body temperature.

Sounds like something is crossing up between your monitor and graphics card. I'd try playing around with different resolutions, refresh rates, and new drivers. I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Service Pack 2 and have had no problems with both of those demos.
Other Means
I blame the Torygraph's anti-Europe stance. Don't want to be part of Europe? Fine, then have your own release dates too! Curiously Italy is similarly forced to wait till the 5th. I'm sure there's a logical reason for it. But I can't think of it right now. If it's any consolation, multi-player is very tricky, most times there's no server to be found. Only had a few goes on two maps. Both very confined and hectic maps. I prefer the more open maps, a la the Battlefield 2 demo map. Also, no prone, which is cramping my style as a cunning bastard sniping people from the last place they expect me to be. PS DUDE! Dude, I totally can't connect to a server. It's so bumming me out.
Elmar Bijlsma
Yup, it sucks balls. I only can get a connection at non-peak hours. Even then, not always. Single player will keep you busy for a bit. Hopefully they fix things quick. A little tip for when you do get to have a go with multiplay: The medical and ammo packs need to be unlocked first. Took me a bit to figure that out.
Other Means
Plus I can't paste my CD key in so I'm reduced to *akk* typing. Single player is a big bag of meh. Plus Bioshock 2 just crashes on me from my QS. I'd have to lose ages to go back to my last save. Gaming has not been kind. *goes back to playing CM:N*
Michael Emrys
Gee, sounds like you guys are having a bad run. I'd advise you to go out and have a drink or six, but I know you do that anyway... Michael
MeatEtr
Here's a thread from over at the EA forums discussing faster server browsing. Also a mod is told that connecting through Steam isn't working. http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/932557-tip-faster-server-browsing.html Just got the game today, haven't tried MP yet, how bad is the server browser? I remember BF2 had a horribly sluggish browser, was hoping it was better this time round. Also I keep getting crashes while reloading a save. It usually happens after about 2-3 reloads. All the more motivation to stay alive and not die and crash.
Other Means
I was kind of expecting a BF1942 feeling to it. Huge maps with loads of vehicles to have fun in. Not happening right now. Claustrophobic maps and crowding. I understand that's due to it running on consoles. They really are ruining PC gaming. The single player campaign is far from gripping.
MeatEtr
Gotta agree with you OM, played MP last night for about 2-3 hrs. I was surprised on how small the maps were. There's literally only one main route to the objectives. Doesn't help that there right next to each other either. BF2 still had wide open maps with multiple ways to the objectives. The SP campaign is not bad, about average I guess. But no body really cares about that, it's all about the MP. Which is a little disappointing so far. Btw, I had to disable my firewall and use the "Play Now" option to play MP. I don't even bother with the server browser, at least until they fix it.
Elmar Bijlsma
I've gotten used to it a little, but it's pretty much impossible for a sniper or vehicle to get a decent position. Before you know it you are swarmed by the tons of people swarming the tiny map. This leads to a pace of play that is a bit faster then I like. In Battlefield 2 the frantic action came in bursts, coupled with careful positioning. In BFBC2 it's ALL frantic action, ALL the time. And something trivial beginning to annoy me: Needing to re-equip all my classes every time I start the game. If I've outfitted my sniper a certain way, it's a good bet I'd be wanting that setup next time too. But noooo, you'll be back to defaulted to the basic kit. Not a biggie, but such a pointless bother, considering it IS kept if you change servers.
Michael Emrys
In BFBC2 it's ALL frantic action, ALL the time. That has always seemed to me to be what the adrenaline junkies are looking for. Michael
MeatEtr
They released a server patch today, details here: http://www.bluesnews.com/s/108110/battlefield-bad-company-2-server-fixes Apparently there's another one coming soon to fix more. Interesting a game known and played primarily for it's MP stumbles out the door in this department.
Other Means
I wonder if some PC centric maps will come out. Looks gorgeous like. {edit} Quite enjoying the single player now.
MeatEtr
Apparently when using the "Play Now" option I always got the Rush mode, which is like CoD with vehicles. So tonight I played only the conquest mode and am happy to report these are the more traditional BF maps. Far better than the Rush game mode. It's more bigger and wide open with attacks coming from all angles. Only bad thing is that I think there are only 4-5 of these maps. Also it's been reported there are more PC players than either of the consoles, not combined though. So I think the days of EA passing on a PC version are over, like with the first Bad Company game.
Teutonicc
All right Gentlemen what are you waiting for M&B Warband is available for purchase and you can be part of the beta until the actual launch day. So far Multi player is great. Unfortunately they just updated to .850 and can't get in to update it. Otherwise they added another faction and it is a unique idea in MP that as you win or not die and win you get money that you can buy better equipment. Although better equipment still doesn't keep you from dying by those blasted "HEAD SHOT".
MeatEtr
They just announced the release date of Mafia 2 for August 24th. Which roughly marks the same date the original shipped way back in 2002. I know others around here liked the original alot too. It was considered a more realistic and serious GTA type game. Greatly looking forward to this.

It was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2009 that it will also be possible to overturn cars.[23] Damage is a feature that Yamauchi has said can be turned on or off.[24] Gran Turismo 2 previously included damage, but was limited to mechanical damage only.Gran Turismo 5 is set to feature around 1000 cars and over 20 total track locations, with variations bringing the number of unique circuits to 70. Yamauchi has explained that he aims to achieve the 1000 car milestone but actual details on the number of cars in the game is still unclear, with the number ranging between 950 and 1000.[13] Dunsfold Park, located in the United Kingdom[14] – the test track of the British automotive television show Top Gear – will be included in the game. Commanderski
I haven't played any of Gary's games but this one looked interesting. Is this along the lines of what the Road To Moscow probably would have been?
