stoat Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 I'm not a huge fan of the reconstructed sharpshooter's pit. I was at the battlefield in Petersburg a few years ago, and they did something similar with the tunnel entrance at The Crater. It made it look hokey. gunnergoz Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 With those excellent period photos of the Devil's Den to use as reference material, the Park Service could have done a much better job of recreating the period feel to the site. As it is, it looks like its ready for a tea service and some potted plants along that perfectly straight stone barricade.
