SlapHappy
....like the Scimitar? Will the Warrior have a similar loadout for its Rarden cannon? I hope not. The lack of anti-infantry capability will be noticed with only 30-40 rounds available when facing large enemy infantry formations.
MikeyD
While the module was being compiled the Beta guys would often gasp over what the Brits were fielding, then we'd double-check the sources then gasp again. A common refrain was "The outer board's gonna have a fit!" Yes, Warrior's got roughly similar loadout to Scimitar (45? HE). But Warrior has the advantage over Scimitar of at least having a turret traverse motor, though neither have gun stabilization. Yeh, that's right - no gun stabilization (chuckle chuckle).
Battlefront.com
Yeah, we had a lively debate about this within the Beta Test group. As MikeyD said, there were many gasps when we got inside confirmation that the way we have it now is accurate. Makes no sense to me either, but... we wargamers aren't in charge of things over at the UK MoD so it is what it is Steve
Sivodsi
Yeh, that's right - no gun stabilization (chuckle chuckle). Yikes! So how is the accuracy of the warrior's main gun compared to say, a Bradley, BMP-3, BMP-1/2? On a par with the BMP2, I would hazard to guess... (given equal quality crews)
flamingknives
Accuracy is fine, as long as you are firing from a stationary position. A fairly flat trajectory and pretty consistent gun.
-Eddie-
Am I to assume that as this is set in 2008 the Warrior won't be upgraded in the future to include the new WFLIP programme replacement?? Even as part of a NATO module. Good article Edit: Looks like the 40CT has already been involved in trials earlier this year:
flamingknives
The WFLIP project is a fair way off being in service yet (the competition winner hasn't been chosen yet) so it would be entirely unreasonable to include it in CM:SF.
Alan8325
I'd be much more interested in seeing the up-armored version of the BMP-3, which is supposedly the type of threat that's driving the development of these new weapons. So far the BMPs in CMSF take nothing more than .50 M2HB to take out.
