Alan8325
Those are some great pictures. I liked the one with the firing 155 and the one with the mortar (smoke?) rounds detonating. Also I thought it was interesting that one of the U.S. soldiers was using an SVD rifle.
ricky77
I say the soldier with the SVD rifle has borrowed it from the Afghan military.
Sergei
According to one of the comments it's not an SVD but a Romanian PSL rifle. Romania has troops there, right?

Yes, upon closer inspection it is a PSL. Romania does have troops in Afghanistan, but I'm pretty sure that this is a U.S. soldier.

costard
The goat as flavour object - maybe?
Sergei
The goat as flavour object - maybe? Or the insurgent secret weapon - the infamous explosive goat (IEG).
zmoney
Yes, upon closer inspection it is a PSL. Romania does have troops in Afghanistan, but I'm pretty sure that this is a U.S. soldier. I could be wrong but the cammo the soldier was wearring is not the same as US army cammo. I think he is probly Romanian.
gdigga
The guy with the SVD rifle (pic 13) is the same Marine from pictures #10 and #12. That is the kind of camo they wear.
Sergei
But he could still have been born in Romania. With my reference to Romanian peace keepers I meant that maybe the rifle has been borrowed from them... but reading on the topic PSL appears to have been exported to various places, including Iraq. So perhaps it was found by Marines in Afghanistan, or found in Iraq and taken along to Afghanistan when the unit was transferred.
