Soddball
Flicked through the FAQ and couldn't find anything (the bottle of Louis Jadot hasn't helped) but I want to know how fortifications are to be employed. If (for example) a battle is fought over a particular area and fortifications are purchased (such as trenches, barbed wire), will those fortifications remain if the area is fought over again?
Holien
I think I have read that yes they will remain in place and the terrain will remember damage done to it!! H
Philippe
You left out the important part. Louis Jadot what. And don't say Burgundy. We all know he's a Burgundy shipper.

We all know he's a Burgundy shipper. Oh, just an ordinary bottle of last year's red Beaujolais-Villages. I love it, though, I buy it by the case from France. I have a couple of bottles of Puilly Montrachet at the back of the cupboard, though, for a special occasion.
Kanonier Reichmann
The other important question though is, when purchasing fortifications will the defender be penalised victory points for doing so as currently occurs in CMBB? Regards Jim R. "Victory points" from battles don't mean anything in an operational level game, so it should not be a problem.
Kanonier Reichmann
Hang on, it has to count for something, surely. If I am the defender & purchase a whole heap of fortifications which are them immediately treated as casualties in terms of victory points accrued to the attacker then surely this is a problem. How else does one win a campaign if it's not from eliminating the enemy (thereby accruing victory points) as well as capturing terain? If, after the battle, the defending forces are defeated & therefore lose control of the terrain then I don't have a problem with losing the victory points then since all the man made improvements have been lost to the enemy. Renaud
I don't think post-CMBB engagement deployment on the CMC Op map will be determined by the traditional CMBB AAR victory points. Basically, if at the end of a CMBB engagement, you have forces controlling one or more of the 4 flags on the 2x2 Op map, you get to control those 1x1 sections. Whether this is a 'victory' or not is no longer cut and dried...both sides could well be happy with the result and think they 'won'. Much more realistic than points! At the end of the CMC campaign, a kind of CMC-points, possibly derived from cumulative CMBB points behind-the-scenes, may be used to determine overall victory.
Wicky
With a new CMBB.exe (CMBB.app??) coming with CM:C there is an opportunity and means to correct the fortifications points bug - A 1.04 update from BFC isn't a promised cert.
