Ike
And from "Quest for the Holy Grail", if I recall correctly. The scene at the foot of the "French" castle. Oh, and the quotation from the tomb of Lucius Cornelius Sulla is, "No better friend; no worse enemy."

Sergei
You're welcome! mrpwase's line "It's been done before" is however what he meant with "MP quote" . I just wanted to kindly make fun of you, as otherwise the terrorists would have won.

Liebchen
Um, Ike, if I'm not mistaken, it was the scene at the bridge crossing. The French castle/outpost scene's quote was more along the lines of "Your father was a hamster and your mother smelled of elderberries," or some such. FWIW, of course.

"I wave my gentials in your general direction!" Not that I'm actually doing that, but that quote is from the same scene. Or the Holy Hand Greande of St Antioch... sigh! Comedy genius... Ike
Liebchen, I'm surprised that I can remember the QFtHG at all, since the last time I saw it was when Carter was President of the U.S. <laugh at myself>

And then again at the bridge.
stoat
The laden swallow bit is at the beginning of the movie when they approach an English castle. The bridge bit does not mention laden swallows, but rather air speed velocity of said swallows.
Sergei
That's not funny! (slaps Stoat) I vant to know the joke.
stoat
We're knights of the Round Table. We dance when'er we're able. We do routines and chorus scenes, with foot work impecc-able. We dine well here in Camelot. We eat ham and jam and spam a lot. "On second thought, let us not go to Camelot. It is a silly place."

stoat
Sergei: And Saint Attila raised the Holy Hand Grenade up on high saying, "Oh Lord, Bless us this Holy Hand Grenade, and with it smash our enemies to tiny bits." And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs, and stoats, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and lima beans-
Shmavis
You know, I never could figure out what the hell a "pram" was, until I came to the UK.
Ike
Easy-peasy, Shmavis: a "pram" is a "perambulator". Known in more civilized and less obtuse locations as a baby-carriage. <laugh>

I work with the US all the time, and it is amazing the number of words that will trip you. I mean, you don't want to go near 'tramp'!
