The supporing cast of YR is far superior with McLaglen, John Agar, Harry Carey Jr. Searchers supporting cast has Ward Bond, not enough to make the overall cast performance above YR's. Thus, the fact that The Searchers is a better movie is testament to Wayne's superior performance.
