Chad Harrison
Just noticed that Gamespot stated what time periods the two scenarios would be, the link is here. The text as follows: Gamespot: The scenarios start with the German invasion of Russia in 1941 and end with the Soviet's storming of Berlin in 1945.So if I read this right, we get a Barbossa scenario, and a Berlin scenario (or are they talking about the scope of the game?). Cant wait! Chad Harrison BTW, does anyone know what time the demo is up for grabs?? Any official word from BFC or CDV?
Gpig
Well, the way I read it when taken in context (and how you already have guessed) is that they are talking about the whole scope of the game. NOT the scenarios for the Demo. But it is not very clear. Thanks for the link. Gpig

aka_tom_w
This is what is says: " Tuesday, August 27, 2002 Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin Publisher: Battlefront.com Developer: Big Time Software Genre: Strategy Release Date: TBA Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin demo coming Battlefront.com will soon release a playable demo for its sequel to Combat Mission, its acclaimed 3D tactical wargame. Battlefront.com has announced that a playable demo for Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin will be released on September 1. The demo will include two scenarios, as well as a tutorial. In Barbarossa to Berlin, players fight with historically accurate forces that fought on World War II's Eastern Front. The scenarios start with the German invasion of Russia in 1941 and end with the Soviet's storming of Berlin in 1945. The original Combat Mission, released in the middle of 2000, was praised as the first historical wargame to make good use of a 3D graphics engine, and the sequel aims to both improve both the graphics and add new layers of historical detail. Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin is scheduled to start shipping on September 20. It is available for order from the Battlefront.com Web site. For more details, read our previous coverage of the game. By Sam Parker, ©GameSpotPC 2002 [postED: 08/22/02]" I don't think there is ANY indication of the nature of the 2 demo scenario's in that short article. -tom w [ August 27, 2002, 03:26 PM: Message edited by: aka_tom_w ]

Redwolf
Due to a slight screwup, BFC included all scenarios in the demo... That's what you get from making the scenario files so small, they slip through your fingers easily.

gibsonm
Why not wait 3 days, download it and find out? Surely raising these sorts of issues now either: a) Peeve the no doubt frazzled development team, or Delay the release as the paragraphs are re-written. It was written by Gamespot, not BFC. And if you read it without taking the time to pick it apart, it can be misleading. You all get to pick apart now what I read quickly. And anyways, BFC has much better things to do than to reply here, and they did not even bother clicking on this. Wait three days? Shouldnt that be 5 days? So Terence, do you want to discuss whether or not it is gamey to bring a AT/INF gun to a ME w/out transport? I purchased 4 M8HMC's in my 2000 point ME, are you going to complain? All my infantry are SMG troops, or Airborne troops, does this increase your blood pressure? All my vehicles are flak trucks, employed at ranges over 500m, now how do you feel? I run all my troops along the extreme edges of the map, do you get my point? Now, thats reason to argue, NOT an interpretation of a poorly written (IMO) piece of data from Gamespot! In Barbarossa to Berlin, players fight with historically accurate forces that fought on World War II's Eastern Front. The scenarios in the tutorial, in a gesture meant to draw in the casual gaming community, include Wack-a-Mole, Ms Pacman and Tele-Tebby inspired battles that start with the German invasion of Russia in 1941 and end with the Soviet's storming of Berlin in 1945. The game designers told Gamespot insiders that no Tele-Tubbies or Moles were harmed in the production of these whimsical scenarios Gimme a break this was my first post and I'm stuck at work
