CMMOS V4.05 posted at CM Mod Database

Recommended Posts

I just posted the new version of CMMOS at CM Mod Database.

CMMOSV4.05 is in the CMBO section along with the rulesets for CMBO.

V4.05a also includes support for CMAK! Rulesets for CMAK are in the CMAK section of the Database.

Several mods have already been done and more are in work. These will also be posted as time permits.

The RuleSets for V4.05a have been zipped into a zip file for easier downloading. Simply unzip that file and install every ruleset, again install every one. This is especially important for CMBO mods since some install several mods at the same time, some into several rulesets.

For any questions, comments, complaints, please contact MikeT at miket6065@sbcglobal.net

Listen up, people.

If you are not stuck with any other mod manager, you should really try the revamped version of CMMOS. Mike has done a terrific job. It´s good looking, well organized and there will be a continuing support with mods. Must I mention that a tremendous job has gone into this? You will not get disappointed.

Hi,

I just download CMMOS V4.05a from CMMODS, but along with the rulesets and mods themselves. I installed CMMOS, ran the updater and now when I run it I get the option to select only CMBO and CMBB.

The menu bar says CM Mod Option Selector v4.03.

Any ideas on why I'm not seeing the option for CMAK and what steps I can take to fix it?

I didn't see an uninstall option, but I tried deleting, redownloading and reinstalling with the same results.

A coworker did the install shield version of this for me. He asked me to test it out before it finialized some details. There is a point in the install where you can accidentially press cancel, I did it the first time around, and ended the install process.

I am assuming that this is what happened. Try installing 4.05a again but watch and read carefully before you press any hot button.

Let me know the results.

I just checked my work PC and I do have 4.05 loaded, it says so on the top of the window. So I think it is safe to assume you accidentially cancelled the install process.

It just does not override version 4.03.I've redownloaded the file and unzipped it and it will install fine but it does not overwrite version 4

.03.Has anyone been able to get it to do that? I have Gordon's v4.03 and it works fine and all the upgrades he did worked over the older versions he had, but this one doesn't work at least for me.I didn't hit any cancel buttons by mistake or anything like that,if someone has d/loaded this and had version 4.03 installed already and it worked by overwriting version 4.03 post what you did since I feel like an idiot cause it isn't working for me.Sorry Mike,I think there's a problem here. The first time I d/l the file it would unpack the files and then it would lock up in my install wizard and I'd have to ctrl/alt/delete to get out, then last night I re d/lded the file and it seemed to install just fine but I still had version 4.03 with no CMAK file just CMBO/CMBB so after numerous times I quit. Then I saw someone else post about this and I did as well, tonight I re d/lded the file again and it will lock in my install wizard again right after it unpacks and it just isn't working.Anyone? or should we move this to Tech?

OK, how about this. I can email you the CMMOS.exe and the zipped file with the CMAK filelists. You will create a folder tree in the CMMOS directory for CMAK, that will have two folders called MODS and FILELISTS. See the folders for CMBB and CMBO and just copy that. You place the CMAK filelists in the FILELISTS folder. The rename the old CMMOS.exe file to CMMOS_old.exe and place the new CMMOS.exe to CMMOS folder. That should get you running.

If interested just email me at miket6065@sbcglobal.net

Hi all,

When I was given the option to install or repair the CMMOS upgrade, I selected repair - and that seemed to do the trick on my computer.

I'm not sure what went wrong or where, but that might work as well.

Mike, many thanks for your suggestions and help. The program looks fantastic!

I hope you are right tweed. I did check this out on my work PC, XP Pro. I installed 4.3 first then installed 4.5 over that. It didn't remove any mods or rulesets and CMAK installed with no problems.

I talked with Greg Hellem up here, he did the installshield for me, he commented that maybe the problem PCs are using Windows95 or ME.

However a work around is possible I just need to send you the right files and you can hand build the CMMOS yourself. Very easy and detailed instructions are possible for any "PC Challenged" among us.

Thanks Mike for all the hard work. Will I have to uninstall my old version of CMMOS ( can't remember the version number - it has all the CMBB CMMOS stuff { plus what I "home CMMOS'ed" for CMBB ). I'm my parents apt. right now & it doesn't look like I'm going to get home for another week or so ( my dad's having a REALLY bumpy recovery from his cancer surgery ). Anyway, both parents are in ICCU at the hospital at the moment ( Mom has congestive heart failure & will need to go a nursing home temporarily after she's discharged from hospital as I can't look after her properly ).

Thanks for listening folks; it's been 4 awful weeks around here. I hope my parents start recovering soon, the constant worrying is driving me 'round the bend.

Rob, for me 4.05a installed right over 4.03 but two have reported problems of not installing at.

If you prefer I can simply email the new CMMOS.exe and the filelists. You create the necesssary folders in the CMMOS folder and you are done.

On your parents, I lost mine years ago. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Damn you get sick no problems you can tough it out. They get sick there is nothing you can do to help. The most terrifying feeling in the world. All my hopes and prayers to you all.

When I tried installing version 4.05, all cmbo and cmbb stuff along with the CMMOS core files installed under C\Program Files\(default option in the setup) and the required CMAK folders(with filelists and so)installed under C\Program\. I chose repair and just transfered the CMAK folders over to Program Files\...and everything worked.

My best wishes for Rob Murray and his parents.

MG, glad to hear it. I was very worried about this. Oh, thank you trust me there are many many mods I have not posted yet. BTW, have you checked out the Pacific mod?? I am very proud of that. Feel free the spread the files and how to use them around.

AJRimmer, sorry mods are installed in the HDD as CMMOS is installed. Now maybe you could install CMMOS on the CD and run it from there. I haven't tried myself so I cannot promise it will or will not work. Please let me know the results if you give it a try.

It's worth noting MG's point: there's nothing stopping people using McMMM _and_ CMMOS. As far as I know they coexist perfectly happily.

AJR: McMMM can load mods off a CD. It does take one small trick - email me if you need to instructions. (I'd have sent you an email instead of hijacking this CMMOS thread, except your profile won't let me!)

Your right GaJ MCMMM and CMMOS work fine together
Wait a tick... here's a mind bender - if you mod say, the buildings with MCMMM and then you mod again using a CMMOS mod without uninstalling the first, and then you forget which MM you used and try to uninstall the CMMOS building mod with MCMMM you would be on your way to a losing both the MCMMM mod and the original BFC file. am I right?
