tankibanki
Can anyone tell me why that resulted in a major defeat? BTW, I was Axis...
tankibanki
oh, and the operation ended after just one battle, although it was supposed to be 3 battles long. It's called StMereEglise
Sergei
What type of an operation was it?
JasonC
Don't know the particulars, but as a matter of game mechanics, in an operation where you are defending and the other side is trying to take ground, if he gets men on all the ground rapidly, you will lose.
tankibanki
I was defending, but at the end of the battle I was holding considerably more ground than before.
SgtMuhammed
What were the Allies supposed to do? Did they exit maybe?
tankibanki
No, they were to attack. They didnt do anything, except lose lots of units.
Steve McClaire
My guess is it was an 'advance across the map' operation (forget the actual name) and the scenario designer started the Allies on the side of the map they were supposed to reach to win.
tankibanki
Yea, that must be it. Why didn't I think of that? Now I understand why it ended after just one battle. Thanks.
tar
It's also a bit odd that some of the text in the end screen is in English. Looks like not all of the user interface text has been internationalized.
Joachim
Might be caused by a wrong patch or some mod. My text is fully German. Gruß Joachim
tankibanki
I have installed all the German patches, but the patches required me to move Scenarios from the "Szenarien" folder to "Scenarios" and changed the save game folder to English language, too. Haven't encountered any real problems, though, so I'll leave it as it is.
