CMplayer
Even after yesterday's diagnostics, the forum is behaving strangely. It seems to start at about 3:30 AM East Coast USA time and lasts a few hours. Perhaps BFCs internet host runs some kind of automaintenance at their main site which is interfering? Have disabled cache, eliminated cookies, rebooted, all to no avail. [ January 23, 2004, 01:03 PM: Message edited by: CMplayer ]
GJK
If you're on WinXP using IE, it has some strange caching and cookies issues that we've been discussing on a developers list that I'm subscribed to. Have you tried another browser? If you're not on XP or not using IE, then, nevermind.
CMplayer
I'm not on windows at all. But tomorrow morning at 3:30 AM EST when it starts I could try using another browser. That sounds like a good diagnostic trick.

Just as an aside question (though I realize your point was different) do you usually post between 3:30 AM-5:30 AM EST? That's when this stuff happens. Lars
Nope, I'm sleeping the sleep of the just at those hours. Thought it might help with the debugging though.
Michael Emrys
I'm on a Mac using IE 5.1.4 and I noticed some of the problems you mention a couple of weeks ago, but have not posted during the critical hours in the last week or so. I may again beginning next week so I'll let you know if I spot anything. Michael
CMplayer
Thanks Michael. It'll be interesting to see if you notice the same thing.

That's exactly the right timing I believe. EST is GMT -5 right? [ January 22, 2004, 03:42 AM: Message edited by: CMplayer ]

Firefly
Yes, I woke up early this morning and had no problems until 08:30 GMT (03:30 EST), when they started again - I even had a white screen the first time I tried opening this thread. I'm wondering if there's some sort of scheduled maintenace that kicks in the early hours, US time.
Firefly
I just posted a reply agreeing with you, but it disappeared after a white screen, but I was still shown as the last poster. Odd.

I find that it's possible to use tricks like you describe, but that on the whole the problems can happen so often as to effectively block the forum.
