BeoWolf
Phew, that is one hell of a scenario! Should be be a heck of a fight. Mike, it might take me a little bit to get my troops set up. After all, I at least want it to seem like I tried when I beat you.
mike the wino2
You don't have to really try all that hard to defeat me...just ask Becket . That knuckle-dragging, Nascar-fan did it while house hunting and holding down a full-time job. At least I think medical research test monkey qualifies as a full-time job. WHO YOU CALLING A NASCAR FAN? Ah, time to savor my victory over mike the wino's burning horde. A fun game, but too long (see below). Feedback for Soddball: 1. The general theme is great. You want fire, you got FIRE. 2. The scenario is basically balanced, though I question the decision to balance SU-76s with Marder IIs. 3. The tit-for-tat balancing and the rate of reinforcements leads to a bit of gameyness. I would (a) ditch the dinky tanks and ( limit the reinforcements to one wave. 4. The scenario is too long. This game was decided on turn 25 but we had to wait out the variable ending on turn 35. The last 5 turns were painful. I suggest going with 25 turns variable. mike_the_wino
Oh looky at my COOLER, LOWER member number. I forgot all about this one until I found it in my files. Re: Soddball's Inferno Having played this scenario twice against 2 different opponents I don't feel it was unbalanced. Two games with exactly hte same score (IIRC) 67-33 but polar opposite results, one win and one loss. Becket's self-proclaimed "gamey" tactics were either brilliant tactical moves or just blind luck. He struck me at my 2 weakest points just as I was moving units into place. Had he hestitated or if I had tighened lines a bit more, both of his critical blows would have been for naught. As far as turn length, Dave H and I played a slower paced battle. If this game had ended on turn 25 it would have ended in a draw. I think overall it was a great scenario against two excellent opponents and I enjoyed both matches. Thank you Soddball for the scenario and I recommend people giving it a go once it gets posted. Thanks also to my opponents, Becket and Dave H for two of the most enjoyable games in a long time. As far as BasticheMoldyBalls , I look forward to being your Daddy. {editted to add: Looky Soddy, an even lower member number than you.} [ March 19, 2003, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: aka: mike_the_wino ]
Becket
Definitely a fun time, mike. I recommend the scenario whole-heartedly. Also, let me know if you're interested in a rematch. I'm thinking something set on one of the BCR maps, maybe from the newly released packs. 1944? You can pick sides & parameters.
Dave H
Okay mike (or whoever you really are now), I see my gamey flag rush on turn 34 didn't merit a mention. OTOH, it kept our game going for a few extra turns, which by that point was my main goal. Let me join with Becket and the alleged "mike" to highly recommend Soddball's Inferno scenario. I can almost guarantee that even in the craziest QB where you have selected your own forces, you haven't picked anything like this. Try it and see. Now then, "mike", is there another name we should call you? Can we be certain you won't remember another member number with only three, or even two, digits?
Soddball
Thanks for the kind words, chaps. If you have any more feedback on how to improve the scenario before I post it, let me know over the next day or so. I will be posting it at The Scenario Depot this weekend. BeoWolf
Mike, I will try to send a turn back tonight, but I have a lot of work to do and still have only surveyed the land, not my troops.

mike_the_wino
All right BeoWolf , I know you probably have a lot of units to los...er, place. Take your time. As far as Becket , by all means take your time coming up with a sig. It might even be witty if you can get enough of your synapses to fire in order. As to the rematch, yes, I demand a chance to meet again in battle. And wouldn't you know, Soddball has devised a devilish delight that I will send to you this eve. Still looking for one of you pack of mongrels to untuck your tail from between your legs and step up for a match. What? Not a one of you mediocre, mindless, gerbil-loving, girly-boys up for a real game?

Ah well, you're the loser (hehehehe) so you get to pick the battlefield.
Soddball
That scenario you've got is in beta mode at the moment - I've been fiddling around with the units to make it more interesting. A beta-version to be honest but untested by yours truly and made by Soddball . It will go out tonight. As far as the marriage thing. Utah prohibited multiple marriages a long time ago but that really only applied to a man and his wives. As you are talking about same sex marriage, ie you and MasterGoodale , you have to check your local laws on same sex polygamy. I see you live in the Great Socialist Republic of Canada so I imagine love of your fellow man is allowed, if not encouraged. *shudder* Originally posted by Beckie mewing and whining Duly noted. mike_the_wino
Alas, the siren song of physical labor is too strong to ignore. These melodious notes, coupled with the lure of continued employment (as an added bonus lowered expectations), are too strong for me to ignore; thus my eve is decided. I will be working late tonight so don't expect any turns. Well you lot are a surly bunch so expect all you want. Just know this, turns not going out. Soddball
My game versus GladBoy FrotWit has kicked off. He picked the settings - 1941, a map as flat and green as a snooker table, without ANY cover except for a few scrappy buildings. My forces have to attack across 600m of open ground. The boy has to be yanking my plank. This isn't a PBEM, it's an early April fool. No other bitch has sent me no stinking turns. Might Be A Whiner has sent me NUFFINK. Woosie Kohler has sent me NUFFINK. Massive Goat Fellator has sent me NUFFINK All my other opponents ain't sent mu nuffink, neivver. Twats. Get me some damn turns before I go over to your mum's house and give her something to hang her towels on.
