Just in time for TCP/IP - new interface mod ready!

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

This one got it's inspiration when I figured out how to change the in-game fonts by messing around with some bmp's. So that meant I was finally able to use the same font pretty much everywhere, which is something that I wanted to try. I am sooo sick of looking at that typewriter font... it looks so... like it's been programmed on a Mac or something!! smile.gif As far as style goes, the mod looks like the game Fallout meets the movie 'Brazil' a bit, although I didn't set out to do it that way, it just sort of oozed in that direction. According to the feedback I got, people seemed to like the simpler designs better, so I tried for that goal while doing the layout. There is more text on the screen, closer to the original BTS version. Everything's been redone, nav buttons, VCR buttons, sidepanels, everything. Just in time to get your machine ready for TCP/IP! Head on over to

to check out screens and such. And make sure to drop me a line or post here to tell me what you think! Enjoy!

DeanCo--

(edited part) I forgot to tell you what it's called! It's called the GUNMETAL mod!!

Excellent! Beautiful textures.

nice Gun Metal Look VERY cool Eye candy interface.

BTS should hire this guy smile.gif

This interface design work is truly of professional quality and could easily be found in a game title one might buy in a fancy box on a self in a video game store.

Its WAY cool!

Absolutely SUPERB! This is definately your best one Dean. Great Job! I used the Grog version for the longest time, it being my favorite, but no longer, this one is awsome!

Thanks!

Mord.

Splendid. Probably will have to get used to it a little, but splendid!

One request: Could you do something to/with the helmets, instead of "OK:" for casualties? I refuse to lose the helmets, cos they're cool. biggrin.gif

Guest Madmatt

The colored text is cool but it will hurt your eyes when coupled with a snowy battle. Best to switch to the Black and White option he also also included. It does tend to make some new text that is included with the upcoming v1.1 Public Beta patch hard to read as well.

quote:
Originally posted by russellmz:

hey, aka,

what did you use to take those pics? they REALLY are crisp and clear.

I'm on a MAC G3 PowerBook Don't ask about the video card, The System Profiler just says there are 8 megs of built in V-Ram on board, that it, I suspect ATI has something to do with it.

I did a "command shift 3" and did a screen grab, my monitor is an LCD display and it is set to millions of colours (24 bit) 1024x768.

I opened the .pic (pict) file the screen grab generated, in Adobe Image Ready and then "saved optimized as" for the web, a jpeg ( .jpg) file that was set to high quality at 60%, at the same time it turned the file into .html web page. Took about 5 minutes.

Then I struggled here for about 45 minutes, (until you bailed me out THANKS! smile.gif ) to try to post them here.

Is there anything else you are interested in?

I'm not sure they look any crisper than anyone elses screen shots? But thanks anyway smile.gif
