Sgt.Squarehead
I'd have preferred to see some stuff covering the fighting in the Panjshir.....Massoud (PBOH) kept the Soviets plenty busy for a very, very long time.
Rice
Would be interesting to see how this book could lend to changing or "remastering" the in-game scenario.
Aragorn2002
It's out now.
Ivan Zaitzev
It has been out for a few days, yes. I started reading it but had to postpone it for various reasons. I'm liking it so far. Apparently there is a second book coming from the same author, a campaign book about the battles in the Panjshir Valley. Hacketäuer
I have read the Osprey Combat version on Afghanistan. Maybe it was already mentioned here, it is out for quite some time. I liked it a lot. It is called: "Soviet Paratrooper Vs Mujahideen Fighter: Afghanistan 1979–89"

This was also the first mission that hooked me to CMA.

Aragorn2002
Well, Storm 333 has arrived. Typical Osprey with mediocre artwork and good basic info. Worth the money, I would say. Impressive Russian operation. Edited April 21, 2021 by Aragorn2002

waffelmann
Thanks for your opinion! I will re-consider (and I am not the fastest in deciding so this will take time....)...
Ivan Zaitzev
After a long hiatus, I have finally retaken and finished this book. I really liked it, it's full of detail and some good maps, looking at the further reading list at the end, it looks like i have read most of the English books listed, but it's nice to have all the details in one place. A nice opportunity to expand on the stock scenario from CM:A with new details, but it also highlights the reality that you will never get such a good result as the Soviets did in real life.
