General Jack Ripper
I'm trying to build a firing range for more TTP videos, and I want to place a bunch of empty vehicles as targets. I purchase a bunch of vehicles, but if I set vehicle status to 'Dismounted' I receive no vehicles. If I set them to 'Immobilized' they are deployable, but they shoot at anything trying to shoot them. If I set them to 'Destroyed', they exist, but units refuse to target and shoot them. Is there a way to place non-destroyed empty vehicles as static targets? Or is there some other method to place vehicles as static targets?
Pak40
Just place normal vehicles. When doing your test, use the scenario designer setting designed for testing. Then you can command all vehicles to hide, give them cover arcs, etc...
General Jack Ripper
Thanks.
Bulletpoint
You can also place any vehicle in the editor and then dismount it, and move the crew somewhere else. Might look better in your video if you're going for a realistic "firing range" feel.
General Jack Ripper
Yeah, I have to play in hotseat, and set things up beforehand. I've got a handle on it now.
IanL
The dismounted setting turns them into ammo dumps. One thing you can try is add them as normal and in the deployment dismount the crews. I think, but have not verified, that will mean the vehicle will actually be there but they will not be crewed. If that works all you need is a safe out of the way place to put the crew(s).

IanL
Did it work?
General Jack Ripper
Actually, I figured out what my problem was from before. Not every vehicle can be dismounted or bailed out in the editor. I deleted those vehicles, bailed everything out, hid the crews behind bocage, and now I have a field of active, dismounted vehicles. My quad .50 on the firing line is having a field day! Edited April 8, 2016 by SLIM
General Jack Ripper
Alrighty. Just spent 2 hours smashing things. I'm going to do a few more modifications, then release the firing range as a scenario.
