Don Czirr
Greetings Comrades ! Was wondering if anyone plays some Soviet era music in the background when they play the Red Army in CMRT? If so, please share your list. When I'm in the mood, this sets off the atmosphere quite nicely (in addition to using the great visual mods from the community). Below is my current set. I was very impressed by the talent of the Red Army Choir - especially on the Anthem of the USSR: The Cossacks The Red Army Choir The Best Of The Red Army Choir 2:06 The Cliff The Red Army Choir The Best Of The Red Army Choir 6:32 Soldiers, Brave Young Men - Soloist : E. Blazing 88's
Since I only use the German side, this is considered Russian propaganda by my pixeltruppen.

[/quote'] LOL - I use the soundtrack from Talonsoft's EF2 for the German side. It makes me want to merrily goose-step up and mount my King Tiger .... Did not mention that however as this IP is now managed by BFC competitors
John Kettler
Severian, This long list of Russian military songs should keep you out of trouble for a bit. Speaking of the first song, The Sacred War, the vid I much love of the artillery unit receiving its broadcast as the open fire code is now dreck. The one which used to be up was razor clear. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtmtb1_the-sacred-war_music This one is at least on par (see lyrics at More) with "Panzer Lied" and "Blood Upon the Risers" in terms of gruesome description, but the melody is haunting. First three verses of "Across the Field Tanks Thundered," though oddly it's about an SU-100 crew. The tanks were rattling like a thunder The soldiers went to their last fight And here they carried young commander With head all broken outright An armor-piercer hit his vehicle, So say good-bye to his Guards crew. Just four more corpses in the hillside Will add to fair morning view. And as the vehicle is burning, Wait for the shells to detonate. You want to live and see next morning, But you're too weak and it's too late. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtmtd2_soviet-tankmen-s-song_music Regards, John Kettler

Don Czirr
You don't have time to sing party songs when an MG 42 is trying to saw you in half... True ... but there are times where I like to re-create the thrill of Red (or German) propaganda films. Try blowing a couple of Panthers to kingdom come with your IS2s while listening to The Russian March. (wish we could get Soviet Flag Bearers to complete the scene) @ John - thanks - nice link .... I now have a couple of new songs to commence my massive Katyusha barrages ! Also - thanks for the Lyrics - I was having a hard time getting translations for a lot of these ...

Since the good ol'e CMBB times, I have the Soviet Anthem as splash music. With CMRT I still use it as splash and for the intro I swap between: "Proschanie Slavyanki" and the "March of the 3rd Tankista's". The proper music adds so much to the game! For CMFI I have a small collection (including "Lili Marleen" and "We are the D-Day Dodgers") at GaJ's. I wanted to add some (mainly "Il Piave" and "Fratelli dell Italia") for CMFI recently and also some British regimental marches for CMBN, but for some reason could not upload. Perhaps, I should try again. Would you be willing to share your impressive Russian Collection? If so, please PM me.
