Stimo
I'd like to hear about those teams purposes. Here are the roles I already gave them without any noticeable benefit : - C2 relays between their HQ and lower ones - frontline spotters while the HQ is safe a few meters away - bodyguards for their HQ (current use) What about you, how do you use them ?

Vinnart
I use them as spotters, and scouts. I have found XOs make great scouts too. Being officers they spot realy well.

Michael Emrys
Scouts, reserves, and medics for me. Pretty much the same for me. I have on occasion also just put them in the line as four more rifles. They can be useful for covering a gap between regular squads. Michael
womble
Depending on where they are in the formation (I'm thinking mortar platoon, offhand), they are sometimes FO-privileged for the light and medium tubes that don't say "Requires FO". So sometimes they get used as FOs while the Mortar Platoon HQ maintains C2/radio contact for the tubes that are on-map. Other times they draw AT weapons or, when the mortars are offmap but their HQ is present get used to scout and cover for their HQ.

ZPB II
Jeep rushes along the map edges.
Broadsword56
Patrols. Send them in places where you want some eyes and ears in that isolated part of the map, to prevent surprises or find an enemy weak spot. They work as a nice self-contained little group, they have a radio, and seem good at operating independently.
Badger73
Scouts, reserves, and medics for me. Also as an additional anti-tank team in scenario's with half-tracks or supply trucks. Have the XO acquire a bazooka and 4 rounds. Then reinforce where needed.
