German/Italian Antitank Rifles

Recommended Posts

Found this great thread on German antitank rifles, some of which were also used by the italians. This should help those of you unfamiliar with these weapons understand what you've got.

Wiki's also helpful

The guy in the pic's using binos. You can't readily tell, but elsewhere other pics exist which make this clear. His firing position also has overhead cover.

nik mond,

True, but the Solothurn was still in service and also formed the primary armament, I believe, of one of the Italian tankettes, the L3 cc. I do not know whether the latter was still in service and do not have the game, so cannot check the equipment lists.

Rokko,

The Solothurn is semiautomatic 20mm cannon. How'd you like to catch one through your vision block, observation slit, gun shield or a bunch of other unpleasant locations I can name? This thing will eat halftracks and armored cars no sweat and should be very difficult to locate at any kind of range.
