Aragorn2002
I'm making my first steps in the world of scenario editing today and I'm trying to place some trenches. With other units I can simply rotate with the Face-command, but not with the trenches. Can anyone tell me how to rotate them?
permanent666
you need another trench section put it next to it. the trench will change its dierction to match the other trench. afterwards you can place the 2nd trench section somewhere else
Aragorn2002
Yes, that's it. Thank you!
Aragorn2002
So, that rules out a V-shaped trench, does it? I mean like this: vvvvv
mjkerner
No, not at all. I have one in a current pbem in a campaign at FGM. You just need to experiment with where you place the second and subsequent trenches...squares, L-shaped, variations on the W...they are all possible
Aragorn2002
Ah, glad to hear it. Okay, I will do some experimenting. Thanks.
Gen Von Television
I suggest you enter the Editor and buy some trenches (one set or two) and then deploy them on the empty field, moving them around so you will see how they connect eventually. In any case I think they are just a visual representation for an entrenched tile, and do not necessarily depict the exact way they face or are turned: in fact after I positioned them the way I liked (with some toiling) I discovered that if they are in a setup area, they will turn again this way or that and won't all stay fixed where I did place them, but a few will turn slightly and so change the overall original design. Is that so?
Aragorn2002
After fiddling around with the editor for a couple of hours one really begins to grasp the brilliance of this game...Very impressive.
invernomuto
Thanks. Before reading this discussion, I've tried quite everything to rotate those damned trenches: CTRL + left clicking, right clicking, going to 3d preview to rotate them like flavour object. I didn't try to connect them... AAARGH!!!! Bye
LongLeftFlank
Yeah, it's a little kludgy but you can get some very nifty results.
