what else do you do while ya wait?

I have bought CMBN big bundle and I am enjoying it so far, and you? And, I have discovered a bug by accident when I have ordered the CD and paper manual on the brand new web site.😃

About the drones, if they are in CMSF2, this is good news since this is one of the thing I was expecting. Now, like Saint Thomas, I will wait to see. Best is to not expect it to have a good surprise at the end. 🎅

HA! My quote above is newer. He changed his mind. See what I wrote above or check here, page 4 and rejoice.

No, I do not think so. Please check the few screenshots of the interface that we have from the game. There is no room for drones like what we have in CMBS, just artillery and air support.

In the end, this trailer is interesting for customers, who already decided to buy CMSF2 like me. For other people it might be even a turn off signal that this game is not for them.
If I would want to convince a friend to buy the game, even if he is interested in the topic of realistic combat tactic games, I am not sure if I would be able to do it with that showcase video.

Well, in your opinion, what would be the perfect screenplay synopsis for people not knowing CMSF?

  4. Great video, more than $10.000.000 of T72 lost in less than one minute. 🙈

In the clips just before the BMPs got hit by the high angle fire, I thought I heard "Moving in to attack position" and "Cleared in hot". But I could be mistaken. ;)

    Where was the Tunguska? 😏

Looks cool though. I don't know if I'm going to buy this one or CM:BN first. ^^

CMBN was the first for me and guess what will be the second for this year? 😃

  5. One question about spotting rounds. I have understood that the FO need to see them to adjust the accuracy of the fire mission. But, is it only see or can he adjust by hearing something?

I am asking the question because playing CMBN, I had a HQ team at 352m from the target. HQ has a perfect LOS on the target. A 60mm mortar (with radio link) has no LOS on the target. Two of the spotting rounds were completely off target behind hedgerows. And, I am sure HQ had no LOS on where these spotting rounds fall.

Still I did see these rounds approaching from the target. Thus, I had the impression the sound of the rounds did play a role.

  6. I have realized that, for so many years, I have only bought from Battlefront two games: CMBB and CMSF (plus all its modules). What is wonderful and very rare now in game industry is that Battlefront is still releasing free demos to try their games. I have looked at CMBN several times. Installed the demo and was continuing to hoping for CMSF2 even if I was not yet knowing it was an existing secret project.

But, for so many years, did I support Battlefront with free demos? I am not sure. So, thanks to @JoMc67 PBEM proposal, I have now bought CMBN big bundle. I think this is the best support I can give to Battlefront. Will buy CMSF2 upgrade when its done. It is not in September. I do not care. I care about a well finish product. And I have the intuition we won't have to wait very long before release.

    Just my humble opinion.

Getting onto Vasquez's 4th base would be hard. 1st Platoon's Assault team survivors (two Marines) still got some explosives, so going into the front door can be avoided. Can also get help from the 2nd Platoon for this. Anyone got any ideas?

I am certainly not the best to answer this question. What do you have left in term of indirect support?

  8. When you are in this page https://www.battlefront.com/battle-for-normandy/cmbn-big-bundle/

The Market Garden link is not the correct one. Clicking on it, you have "page not found" error.

In fact the link must be changed from:

    https://www.battlefront.com/battle-for-normandy/cmbn-market-garden/ (wrong)

    to https://www.battlefront.com/battle-for-normandy/cmbn-market-garden-module/ (correct)

This is already in game. The morale system is very robust and does an excellent job of simulating combat psychology. In fact, the morale and experience system in CM is one of the primary systems (among many) that I think make CM so exceptional.

More to your point, there are plenty of times where the TacAI "takes over" due to circumstances. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes it's not. A scout team taking heavy machinegun fire displacing on its own is an example of the former. A conscript squad breaking cover and running after a few shots fly overhead, just to be gunned down in the open is an example of the latter. I have seen both happen plenty of times in all CM titles.

I did not express myself correctly. When under fire, pixeltruppens are often reacting correctly.

This is usually when everything is silent and when I am starting to fear an enemy contact that I wish my units to be cautious. I am a poor player and still doing stupid / risky moves in this very moment when you know there is something that will happen but you do not know from where. My units are executing my orders risky or not risky even if I am careless about them. This is when I am feeling them as fearless.

A veteran unit may say politely to its leader: do what? are you crazy?

(but you know I am losing less people than when I have started playing this game thanks to all tactics manuals that everybody have shared here)

(and the worst situation for me is clean up this city but don't touch the buildings in the ROE, I have no idea how to do that properly. I prefer to lose points and explode everything)

Parroting some of what @Mord said; in CM you do not only play as the Company Commander, but every leader at every level. A command delay would make sense if you only played as the Company Commander, or the highest leadership position on the battlefield. But that isn't the case.

I see your point. It is true that, while playing, I am identifying myself as the commander of the highest HQ deployed on the battefield. That is why I am confused about the fact my radio order is a kind of mind transmission. And, I did not see the impact on RT as @Mord pointed out.
