There have been quite few threads about it. So I wouldn't blame yourself.

Hahaha. Might have to try that sometime, but only as a last resort. Normally just giving the team they belong to a halt order works for me.

British Paras rock.
Sadly your average "Para" didn't "rock" during WW2. They listened to Vera Lynn and other such pap. Although it would be nice to think that some of them got their hands on Basie, Lester Young, and Lady Day on V-disc.

Ah, thanks for that.

A bit small for my eyes, sadly.

Do you get mortars or artillery?
You get both. Unfortunately for myself, my off map arty drove one of the PzIVs to retreat out of sight, and end up right in the middle of the woods that make up one of the objectives. Which of course I only found out when it blasted my attacking troops.

With regards to CMFI, it is my least favourite title so I haven't bothered upgrading even to engine 3. I know that lots of fellow forumites are big fans, especially because of the wider range of vehicles. But, I'm not really taken with the mountainous terrain, so that is why I play it the least.
I do like some of the features that came with Engine 4 especially the ability to merge teams that have taken casualties in a campaign.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I am still running Fortress Italy on the original engine, sorry for any confusion.

I used to play a broader swath, but overtime having multiple games installed and switching between them (not to mention dealing with engine updates) became a pain.
Ah diddums. If that's a pain, try playing the game whilst suffering from chronic arthritis.

I suppose videos are like the game itself, we all have our own way of playing it, and viewing it. For every QBer there is a campaigner, and for every RTer there is a WEGOer. I loved CMx1 and played it for years. Then when my old dad died I didn't do any gaming for about three and a half years. I only found out about CMx2 via the Armchair General videos. And the first "mission" video I watched was a 2 hour 40 minute "Roadblock" affair produced by someone called "The Games Pusher", and that is what got me back into gaming. Since then I've always enjoyed watching people plan their moves, and explain the reasons for what they are doing.
Although I would agree with what has been said above, when video makers zoom the camera all over the battlefield during the replay phrase it is very irritating.

With regards CM in general anything by Aris is worth having.
Also, keep in mind that the mods site is in the middle of a massive update. For example the most recent update for CMFI has been for the Polish forces.
I would suggest that you look at both cmmods iii and iv to find what you might like.
If you look at the "General Discussion" page, there is a recent thread started by "Bootie" the great bloke who hosts the mod website.

Inspired by this thread I decided to give this campaign another whirl. two "Totals" for the first two missions. But yet again, I only managed a high casualty "Tactical" for the last one. My Shermans had a nasty habit of firing one round at the Pz IVs and then popping smoke and backing off, and guess who gets the first shot off when the smoke clears. Although this time I only lost four instead of five of them. Ho hum.

You should always have a buddy around. Some one needs to save your ass when you do something stupid
I said exactly the same thing to Tommy Fairfax just the other day.

It wasn't my cup of tea. But, I would encourage other forumites to give it a watch, after all we all have different tastes when it comes to CM videos.

A fantastic series of pictures. I'd have been calling the cowardly scout all of the names under the sun. Then cheered loudly as his mate shot the pistol packer in the back.

Here's another one:
"And yet, the Germans only ever built a single aircraft carrier despite their need to support operations in North Africa, and built the Bismarck, a gigantic battleship (that cost as much as 20 submarines), which proceeded to sit in harbor and then be destroyed by air raids. "
I think they mean the Tirpitz.
Hahahahahaha.

Can't resist a correction. The actual lines go:
Double double toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
I along with the rest of my English class had to recite those lines and we really got into it.

Hahahahahaha ... Thanks Mike. That is what comes of having an alta ego who closed the playhouses down. I do actually own a copy of "The Complete Works" but I'm ashamed to say I only got as far as "The Henrys".

Remember boys if you want to get to your Stag party in one piece, don't use Stug Taxis, they're so unreliable.

Something sinister in the wheatfield.

According to my records that is the one entitled "Last Defence". I don't remember fighting it at all, but somehow I managed a "Tactical Victory" despite losing 5 tanks.

I am speaking for myself. I'm not an f-b although other people might be happy with the label.
I merely suggested that name calling isn't the best way to begin a post that you want people to read and agree with.
