  1. This is where I would disagree with MikeyD, THE game changing addition is triggers in the AI in the editor. That capability alone is worth the $10 and I dare any player who doesn't play solely hth to say otherwise. If you don't think that is a huge change I have no idea what you are doing playing this game.

And Vanir is exactly right, AA fire was not a bug fix, it was a feature add. If you can't tell the difference I politely suggest maybe you should reconsider posting on the subject of the upgrade.

the game does not have a separate sound for DT and maksim - mosin and SVT 40 also has only one sound, if they add a separate sound would fix the game or will add a "new" content?

for me it is semantics, patches also fix the game by introducing new content. I repeat again, only CMBN cost me $ 135 - from my point of view I already paid for these small improvements cut from CMRT (which also bought) - I'm not a communist, I do not want anything for free - but if you already spent a lot of money (and will continue to support brand) these minor amendments should be included in the cost of the game - both sides they give something of yourself, get a unique product for which we pay a lot of money.

  2. So your argument is that since CMBN Upgrade 3.0 released in 2014 is *EXACTLY* the same as v1.0 released in 2011, you should not have to pay anything extra? Well, that is true. To use the v1.0 version you purchased 3 years ago you do not have to pay a thing. To use the version of the game you DID NOT purchase in 2011, there is a small charge for the extra features and continued support.

We are... it's an Upgrade. Patches are things that fix or make small tweaks to existing features. Upgrades are things that add new functionality or significantly change basic behavior. It is standard software terminology that has been used for about 20+ years.

You are rewarded for your loyalty by us providing a very inexpensive way to keep up with improvements. Specifically, we do not require you to repurchase the whole game ($55) or have your investment die of old age. These are the two standard behaviors in the games industry, but not for other applications such as Word, PhotoShop, OSes, etc. Those products all sell Upgrades at a discount to loyal customers, just like we do.

    Steve

both write the same thing, because the situation repeats itself - of course accepts your explanation, but I disagree with them - for me, it is payable patch - a small content of which "cut out" of CMRT and sell again. Let there be no misunderstanding, I appreciate your work and effort to adjust the "content" to CMBN

when I first heard about the "UPGRADE 3.0" I hope it will bring a lot of changes - unfortunately most of the content should be issued as a patch - fix bugs game (Ground units are now able to fire at attacking aircraft - ROF), or are not very significant (hit impacts, camera controls, improved editor, water animations)

for CMBN, CMFI and CMRT spent $ 280 (probably will be new modules) - this is really a lot of money - and these minor fixes should be released as a patch, as a reward for this financial effort - should take care of us, as we take care of you .

of course, do not expect anything, I'm not naive, this is just my opinion;)

  3. I know :( Someday I hope I can convince the power that is to change the version numbers to something that makes sense to the rest of us. But until then, it is what it is.

When you go to work I assume you show up on time, you do the work that is asked of you, you aren't able to do other things with your time, and there are others are relying upon you to do what needs to be done. I'm sure not everything you do is "revolutionary", so perhaps your boss shouldn't pay you for all that work. Sounds unfair, doesn't it? That's because it is.

    Steve

but I have already paid for this "upgrade" by buying .................. CMRT, why should I pay three times more for the same thing?;)

the problem is with the nomenclature - for me it is payable patch - you call it an "upgrade" (marketing sounds a lot better) - for me it is semantics - simply, Call a spade a spade.

on CMFI / CMBN / CMRT I spent 280 bucks (even though I knew that I will not be have time to be played - treat it as a support for the series) - for those customers who buy all the games of the series, along with the modules I gave them the "upgrade / patch" for free - rewarding them for their loyalty.

  4. as for me, the purchase is totally unprofitable - This upgrade should be done as a normal patch. (there is nothing revolutionary - simple patch)

    CMBN 55$ + CF 35$ + MG 35$ + 10$ upgrade 2.0 = 135$ - so I spent only CMBN (CMFI/GL 80$)- it seems to me that this upgarde / patch should be issued for free

  5. thanks guys for the help;) unfortunately sometimes the sounds may "disappear" - the fault of the engine, there is nothing I can do about it - except for the amendments, I did a version for "CMA" (ambient, music, light weapons, air cannon, etc..) - mods works in "CMA" and "shock force"

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ho1h9unn9bc41b3/HQS%202.0%20-%20Shock%20Force%20-%20Afghanistan.rar

    installation for "Combat Mission Afghanistan"

1 paste the file "Sound" folder to the - Combat Mission: Afghanistan / Date / Z

2 Unzip the folder "background afghanistan" - paste and replace its contents to a folder Date / Z / Sound / backgound

3 Unzip the folder "music afghanistan" - paste and replace its contents to a folder Date / Z / Sound / music

this is already the final version - for 2/3 days (if anyone reported any ideas / suggestions) I'll give it to "greenasjade"

  6. Erwin

for now I'm waiting for your opinions and suggestions/ideas and information about the bug, and fix it all - publish the finished version on "greenasjade" - max 2 - 3 days

    Rangoon,

I'll do a version for the CMA, and I have a request to you, check my 3 new sounds (bmp, t72, stryker)? - Sory it's so short but I'm writing from work and do not have too much time; (

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nv6uixpo66luuxw/BMP%2CT72%2CSTRYKER.rar

  7. Rangoon

    1 you're right - now fix - now infantry normally screaming ;)

2 I added the sound of a dirty ground under the wheels of Stryker, perhaps this is what you mean? (From a distance you can hear mostly vehicle engine, and close to the sound of the wheels and the ground, and the various sounds of metal / equipment)

3 is a game engine problem (eg, shock force has no sound of wind) - often mutes the sounds of vehicles - then turn off and turn on the sound - unfortunately helps for a short time - it's also a problem CMBN and CMRT

buzz / Kendar - cool that you like ;) - I doubt that anyone else playing CMSF ;)

    ps.

    - Currently working on ambient light (insects, birds, rustling leaves in the wind and a little bit of shooting)

    - Improves the sound for NSVT, rpk

    - I'll add a sound optional for bmp, t72

    - Added new original sound for the guns oh58 kiowa

    - Added new effects for missiles (engine noises and whistling rockets)

besides, I'm doing a speech sound of the Russian / Ukrainian infantry for "black sea"

and one more thing, if anyone had any ideas are willing to do it - for example, I thought to do a typical urban ambient (car noise - the different sounds of the city) but I do not know if it's a good idea

  8. so are the different types of support. there is a bug, I gave two of the same sounds for 20mm (f15) and 30mmm guns (a10) - m4 is also incorrect (I forgot that I tested different sound, which turned out to be worse)

"Also, the Stryker vehicle file sounds like it is clipping (like mike too close, input too high)."

I have to check it out;)

  9. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ffryzzrnn0w9cz/HQS%202.0.rar

Newest version of my mods, revised or completely changed was about 90% of sounds - was created for the "black sea" and are not actually have much in common with the previous version.

    the most important changes:

1 new and much better sound for light weapons (akm, m4, dshk etc.) But also for air guns and cannon

2 voice for Americans - very emotional, for a total of 375 sounds (unfortunately still all use "black sea")

3 new ambient sounds (two additional as optional)

4 soldier movement (I've added the effects of clothing, strong breath while crawling, new sound equipment)

5 new sounds traction for wheeled vehicles and new sound for Bradley

6 tons of new penetration, ricochets and explosions, hits the ground and metal Colapse buildings, new engine shutdown, reload

    7 new music

8 and lots of fixes and improvements (eg ShellCasings etc.).

I hope some of you will test it, share your comments, ideas - only then publish mods to "GreenAsJade"

of course I'm sorry for my "English" ;)

    - immodestly write that it all came out really great;)

  10. Hi Waclaw,

With all the first class work you did on CMBN/CMRT/CMFI sounds, did you plan to upgrade your CMSF sounds to the same quality/diversity ?

I'm just in the course;) I'm working on a new ambient sounds (urban, emergency sirens, cars, etc., and some open - with intense fighting in the background) besides preparing already for black sea

  11. Actually I'm pretty ok with them using a single sound source for multiple weapons (in fact, I've even tried to promote it in the past but that tunred into a cluster**** because people don't seem to understand how sounds are handled in the game).

BUT, I'm not so ok with which sounds they use on which weapon.

The Mosin-Nagant, for example, should have its own separate sound so that us modders can add bolt action sounds for it.

SVT could use the gun 7 single and then the MG's could use the gun 7 pk since they all are the same caliber and essentially sound the same.

In fact, BFC could clean up the sound resources significantly by letting the tommy gun and grease gun use the same sound, the MG34 and MG42 could use the same sound as well. They could dispose of the coax sound completely and get the tanks to use the sound that corresponds to the weapon fired instead.

I could go on, but I think you get my point.

if the grease gun has its own sound and MG42 mg43 it should have its own;) - as for me, may limit the number of other sounds, but definitely not for light weapons

air rockets, certainly uses CMBN - in CMRT not seen the missile raid ;)

  12. I found the sound of the flamethrower, called ................ "air rocket" - understand the limitations the engine, but give one sound for rockets and a flamethrower? -I do not know, maybe developers do not play their games, but then the sound in the game creates a 50% immersion - in "CMBN" even grease gun has its own sound, although it is difficult to find. But give only one sound for SVT and Mosina, dp and maksim - this is a big misunderstanding; (

ps. Is there a thread where you can report it to them and the authors read it?

  13. Speaking of, I've been working on a final version of my soundmod.

I'll make it a community sound mod using not only my sounds, but some of your sounds and possibly other mod makers sounds if I get their permissions.

It will be my final soundmod for CM. I won't make any more (not for release anyway).

I also already announced the final version;) as we both know, I released another two and update, and it's probably not the end;)

improving CM gives just a lot of fun ;)
