I think they were just security incase the enemy got to close. My grandpa was part of an 81mm platoon in korea, and he would always talk about how boring it was guarding the mortars. I mean its not like these medium mortars were right next to the action. Although he has talked about few times about when there would almost be a breakthough they would get thrown into the action.

I got my first .22 bolt action rifle when i was seven and started actually training when i was 13. I took two fighting pistol classes and at 15 i took THE FIGHT, which is a class that simulates an encounter, and trying to make the right decision. Just this year (i am 16 now) i took a fighting rifle class which has improved my handling of an AR-15 greatly. It is truly remarkable what i have learned from a few two day classes once or twice a year.

Training is essential to gun ownership and defense. The biggest problem i have with people carrying is that they are virtually untrained and can possibly harm themselves or other innocents. Then there are the people who have tons of firearms and never bother to actually train with their weapons, aside from popping a few downrange ever once in a while. They would be better off just taking a handgun class or two.

You're right? You cannot be serious. Oh man funny, VERY funny. And wicky i don't have a problem if the guy has a mental disorder. I worded that wrong if they start mass confiscation of guns then all hell will break loose. But then again the government can easily label anyone as a criminal which gives them justification to start taking guns..

Go ask to the mujahadeen or taliban. The government right now would have a hell of a time confiscating guns or try to take over. You need to have the support of the people. If the government here in the states tries to take anyones guns there would be a civil war like no other. Im talking a massive insurgency. Right now people are PISSED at the government trampling all over our rights, spying on us! It makes me mad thinking about it.

Most of the gun violence here are in the cities with the most gun control, Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C. and L.A. Also most mass shootings happen in GUN FREE zones. Not to mention the fact that the Aroura shooter who killed serveral people in that movie theatre went out of his way to find a gun free theatre. Gun control is people control.

The killing Trayvon Martin was self defense, Navy Yard shooting was in a gun free zone, just about all mass shootings are in gun free zones. Gun Control will not help prevent any mass shootings, Gun Control just targets law abiding citizens, because if a criminal wants a gun he is going to get a gun from a shady dude down the street selling handguns for inflated prices. The government just wants to disarm the people who go against their agenda. An armed society is a polite society.

I just read then watched 1984 so all of that is still fresh in my memory.

Looks like all of the people who were called crazy and laughed at, are the ones laughing now. Hell everything we do and say is being monitored these days. Soon background checks for buying a gun will be tied in with the NSA data base and they will be able to pull up anything you have ever said on the internet. Next they find out you said some things about the government a few years back and deem you N/A for that gun you wanted for self-defense. Just because you may have said something when you were mad. Now they are just exploiting the system as they've been doing for years, just taking it to another level.

Oh OK, I must really be loosing it.

Ah here is what I must have read, it was in the Market Garden master maps announcement. I guess i must have took that for "Market Garden will be released a short time after the anniversary of "Operation Market Garden". At least i should be able to get my MG fix soon.
