It seems Hill 109 is vital and GaJ has only "soon to be dead" MG and mortar there? Ugh, go GaJ, go GaJ! Why do I always cheer for the side that is doomed to lose? -

You are silly Erwin - no such thing is needed if you don't go crazy on SLI\quad GPU combo. -

Any 500 EUR rig assembled by yourself will be good enough for CM as long as you balance the purchased hardware and thus not create a bottleneck with any specific component. -

The Scottish corridor - A amazing Job
Hister replied to slysniper's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I was shooting with the 75 and also 95mm. None made any difference. That's strange if you hadn't had any problems with 95mm. Was playing with 2.1 version of the game. Prior to that version I also hadn't had any problems with them bunkers. -
The Scottish corridor - A amazing Job

I restarted The Scottish Corridor and found that those wooden bunkers in the first level are un-plausibly tough when shoot at with Churchill tanks. I spent almost all the ammunition of both tanks punding them bunkers without even a dent in them. What the heck!? -
Aww, I do hope your gun returns fire first GaJ or that second Bil's projectile misses! ... but looking at the teams shaken status that is probably not realisable. Good thing is that you had them hugging the ground otherwise some would be hit by shrapnel. Thus you gave them a couple more seconds of life. Edit: Wait, can that dislodged sniper shoot on the TC now on not just yet? if yes now would be the time I say.

It al depends of the time the defending force would have available but masking it with vegetation is very easy to do and can be done very quickly. In our particular case branches from the surrounding bushes would be laid all over the gun making it much less visible regardless of it's size. -

I'm cheering for GaJ because he has the least chances to win and is the less experienced/skilled player. Not that he can win with what he has purchased against what Bil's got but there's to hoping... -

But still one where you would emerge as a clear winner and rightly so. -

Hister replied to Bil Hardenberger's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Well you see, I was talking from the terrain advantage point of view - you clearly had an advantage since you could occupy dominating higher ground sooner then your opponent. You could see a big part of the battlefield from those starting heights while the same could not be said for GAJ. I'm sure your general tactics would be the same but where would you send your forces, your main thrust if you would play against someone employing similar tactics to yours? -

Bill, that was stellar performance, simply marvellous on both tactical and presentational level! I wonder what tactics you would employ of you would start on the gaj's side of the map?
