  1. In CMBO I played a scenario that I call The Loggers but not sure that that is the correct name. It is a small scenario about some German pioneers out logging and an American patrol stumbles upon them. The battle is small and interesting. Some German snipers, American M8s and I believe a lite tank or two and a German armoured car or two. I plan on remaking, from memory, that scenario for CMBN and would like the credit, if its good, to go to the original builder. Its been years so don't have the scenario anymore and don't remember the builders name.
  2. Being able to change ammo load out in the editor. I started a thread on this.
  3. As far as I can tell its not possible to change the ammo loadout in the editor. It would be helpful when writing a large or huge scenario to be able to increase the ammo load out for the AI defenders or AI attackers. The H2H scenarios don't have this problem for small arms as troops can replenish from a half track or a truck. Anti tank guns only have ,even with an ammo team, 20 or so rounds of AP and this will run out very fast if the gun is taking long shots. The survivability of guns firing from 1400m or so in good cover is very good but they run out of ammo.
  4. Done. Its at GAJ's website, thank you GAJ.
  5. Just uploaded a scenario to the Repository so if I've done it correctly it should be available in a day or so. It is a huge US against the AI scenario. The OOM problem has been fixed. The map is huge, hilly, rough and forested with some water and reminds me a bit of some pictures that I have seen of Italy. The time limit is 4 hours. It is fictional and designed for fun and hopefully it will be. This is my first attempt at producing a scenario and any feedback is welcome. PM me with any feedback. I hope that you will enjoy playing the scenario as much as I did making it. The H2H version is in progress.
  6. It took me six months or so to get into CMBN. The only reason that I go back to CM1 is to check out the equipment stats. It took so long because of the difficulty of learning the game. Learning the game was rewarded by many many unexpected and "neat" events. Can't get over the "realism" as compared to CM1. Don't like the untriggered defense AI though. Some times I will be making a very difficult advance and the enemy will get up and leave their positions and in the distance enemy troops will be wandering about in the open making perfect targets for my tanks.
  7. Tried the sound mod and it works perfectly. Thank you Sequoia, it was a good idea to leave in a little noise.
  8. Thanks Fuser I'll give it a try, I'd like to clear out all the background noise but that should help till one is available.
  9. Any body know of a mod to git rid of the background noise? Thanks in advance.
  10. The best. Can't find anything that approaches it. Didn't care for CMSF because of it being a modern conflict but bought it anyway to help ensure that we got CMBN.
  11. Did the patch change the protection offered by buildings? Some buildings have always offered good protection. May be the scenario designer selected the bullet proof buildings. Be good to know.
  12. I noticed that when I place a foxhole on a gun that most of the crew place themselves in the foxholes. Is this an advantage and will they still man the gun? Also looks like it works for mortars too.
  13. The problem that I am having is with the editor in the deploy mode while setting up an AI defense. The AI defense will be handicapped by the gun being exposed, unless of course it doesn't matter where the gun is in relation to the sandbag wall as far as protection goes. I hope that sentence made sense.
  14. Thanks Sakai , wanted to make sure that there wasnt something else that I needed to do.
  15. I'm building a scenario and want to max out the AI defenders ammo from a truck and there is no aquire mode available. The manual says that there is. Maybe I'm not doing some thing correctly.?
  16. The sandbag walls do not work for me. I can place a gun behind them and save. But when I reload the scenario sometimes the gun is in a different position outside the sand bag wall. Any body else have this problem?
  17. Thank you poesel71 for the info. I am thinking of going to the Mac because its 64 bit.
  18. Which operating system is best for CMBN , Leopard or Lion?
  19. One of my MG jeeps took out a 20mm gunned halftrack. The jeep was scouting in the early morning and came upon the halftrack from the rear. The jeep was just sitting there like a good scout and doing nothing so I figured that it was lost anyway so I ordered it to fire on the halftrack and to my delight and surprise the halftrack crew bailed out. This was in Carbide Carbide or Huzzar I forget which.
  20. I'm making a scenario with an AI defense. Will the AI use TRPs on defense?
  21. Does the defensive AI utilize TRPs. I have looked in the manual but cant find where this is explained. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
  22. I'm busy making a "Huge" scenario with an AI defense, its hilly wooded country and I've noticed that foxholes work very good as far as looks go when they are on a steep slope. They look quite natural. On flat ground they don't look all that natural. And, as some posters have noted they are too easy to spot. I have seen pictures of wood bunkers and they blend in very well and unless you know that they are there they are almost invisible until too late. As to putting foxholes on a reverse slope I have noticed that it can be just the reverse slope of a fairly small undulation in the terrain.
  23. Good to hear the positive about surviving artillery.
  24. I believe that foxholes and trenches are a disadvantage for the occupants and an advantage to the attacker. They are easy to spot and make a fine target for tanks and mortars. I have never had a problem clearing them. What have other players experienced with them, both offense and defense?
