  1. Don't do that, it hadn't occurred to me that a radio could be damaged by shock alone, questions like this are the best resource of the forums.
  2. Yep, I am staying put pretty much too.
  3. Were the Ost battalions in Normandy only Georgian ? I thought they were a bit of a mix of peoples from all over Eastern Europe, including Poland.
  4. As for the grenades, could it be that the Germans were doing that thing where you can tie the heads of 7 stick grenades together to make an AT Grenade? As for the crew turning the tables, could it be that a veteran tank crew is considered veteran infantry if they lose their tank? As the opposing troops were of poor quality that might explain the surrender. If the is the case it certainly does not seem right, if you have just lost your tank I would think running away would be upper most in your mind.
  5. Rubbish ! .......... just disregard the fact that my last job was for Sino-Iron To be honest that is a pretty accurate description of 99% of the country
  6. Yeh but will have to wait until the F-35's rust before we get them, by which time the ol' US of A will have imploded and the Chinese will be at our mercy because we have all the resources.
  7. New Scientist again quotes in order of descending number of deaths Coal, Hydro, LNG, nuclear Seems about 13,200 people die each year in the US alone from Coal related circumstances.
  8. Check out Thorium reactors, saw them in New Scientist they look promising.
  9. That sounds very similar to our PBS, Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme. The only downside of that is that medicines that don't make it into the PBS don't stand a chance in the market as they cannot compete, not sure what that does for choice and competition.
  10. Wasn't intending to provide proof, my brother-in-law is a doctor and I have attended numerous dinners parties with medicos where this very subject has been debated at length. Thought I would contribute personal experience to the discussion. Not sure that a comment like that contributes anything useful No that is not what I am saying at all. I am not suggesting that a doctor's diagnosis is influenced by the drug companies (but that is one of the concerns of the issue), what I am saying is that choice of which brand of medicine to dispense is influenced by pharmaceutical company direct marketing, why else would it be that the only place prescritpion medicines are advertised is in medical journals or doctor's consultation rooms? Having their products placed at the point of sale contributes hugely to their returns.
  11. I think there is a "To hit probability threshold " that a unit will not fire until it has a reasonably high chance to hit? As for the other, get divorced, quit work or work away in the wilderness.
  12. Best leave them out then, wouldn't want to start a Scottish Civil War.
  13. Which is what "the game set is incrementally upgraded across the modules" means.
  14. I know for a fact that the merchandising does influence doctor's decisions and why wouldn't it? If they decide to prescribe a drug why not the one from the company that is written on the pen because it is just that same as those other bastards who didn't give them a pen. It is the ultimate in product placement and direct marketing.
  15. I have no idea, I am not a programmer but what I am suggesting that each new thing that gets introduced into the game set is incrementally upgraded across the modules. As you are not making major changes each time I am thinking that such a progressive upgrading should be possible. So once you have the complete set, in 5 years time for example, further releases will upgrade each module and the base to incorporate the new features.
  16. Ok then : I think that the Commandos and Rangers are a perfect subject for or favourite time waster. A "Commando" in Commonwealth service was really an independent battalion that was tasked with special missions where it operated on its own resources. This ties in fairly neatly with the scale of the game. This sort of thing could make for some really interesting scenarios, the Raid on St Nazaire is the first one to come to mind, then there are a series of operations in Norway early in the war as well as the Med from 41 to 45 and of course Normandy itself saw large numbers of both and the Commandos went on to Walcheren and operations in support of the Rhine crossings. In the PTO too Australian and British Commando units were employed. With not too much imagination Commando and similar Ranger actions from through out the war could be modelled with the CM:BN and CM:21AG modules.
  17. I'm with Gibbo (2CAV ?) on this one, recce in its pure sense isn't really modelled in CM:SF, sending a few blokes out in front out have a look is but Reconnaissance with SAS etc is a whole mission in itself
  18. You forget where you parked it, happens to me all the time
  19. Yeh I always get a bit cheesed off by all the pens, notepads and computers with drug names on them in my Doc's surgery. The Anusol Pentium 4 is a real pain in the arse
  20. I think it means the smallest change in height you can map is 1m. So if you have a 0.5m high bank, it would need to be modelled as 1m or 0m
  21. YAY, we might even get ours before the current fighter fleet rusts
  22. Ok I see that, can we not "build" our own companies in CM:BN ? You know add a section of this size and this heavy weapon etc ?
  23. Thing is are they all that different to regular soldiers?
  24. You are correct I read "addition of a door" as "an additional door". Guess the Kangaroos were preferred by the Brits as there is more room for the Bren Tripods. Any word on where they are being included btw?
