  1. I have updated my tactical icons to take into account most of the feed back from @Der Alte Fritz from here: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=113974 They can be downloaded from the mod warehouse now and the repository sometime soon. New Soviet Key (ammo bearer, SMG squad and flame thrower updated): Preview:
  2. Looks good - what makes it trickier than usual?
  3. That is where I usually fall as well. During setup I have a good look at the avenues of approach, cover etc. and make my basic decision of who goes where in what order. Once contact is made I try to win the firefights as the come up. Having said that if things are not working out I will reconsider and change the plan but even that is not really going back to the beginning since that new planning takes into account the reality on the ground.
  4. I second (or is it third of fourth now) advocating using SMG platoons. I just finished Frosty Welcome and facing those British paras is a tough task. While true that the Soviet Rifle squads have more SMGs than many formations bumping that number even higher for urban fighting should be nice. Having a few LMGs around (they setup faster in buildings than HMGs) would be nice to have for covering fire down long streets and adding some tank hunter teams will give you a pretty good infantry setup. Can you get the resupply trucks in QB - I never did check. If you can do. Not sure what to say about armour support but you have lots of ideas already. I would not go crazy with engineers but a few added teams for mouse holing would be a good idea.
  5. LOL - I know I made them. I was just kidding you that you switched away from my icons in your more recent shots.
  6. It is really frustrating when something like that happens and we should be reporting / complaining about it for sure. I'm not trying to minimize that just offering a cruel way to get control of your squad back.
  7. Humm I thought that when I had the guy taken out the status of the remaining soldiers returned to ready or rested right away. It made me think that the fatigue level is tracked per solider. I do not have documented proof of that mind you so I could be totally miss remembering.
  8. The uniforms look great. I look forward to getting them once they are uploaded. Some how I liked your earlier pictures better - something about the icons made me happy:D
  9. Are you sure about that? I don't think the target arc has anything to do with when a unit stops hunting. I am not at a gaming computer right now so I cannot check to be 100% sure.
  10. Tanks will also balk at going between buildings when the space is too narrow. Or for that matter if the space between two impassible things is to narrow. For example a building near heavy rocks could leave the impression there is space when there really isn't.
  11. I found that turret you had during my list and I quickly realized that it must have been painted to avoid rust. So I changed my search to look at cut steel instead of actual armour penetrations. You already have an excellent shape and look to the actual whole it was just the colour I feel needs adjusting.
  12. Well he called shot gun way back in the staging area and he is not giving up his seat :-)
  13. You mean like using the hunt command and a 40m circular cover arc?
  14. Yeah, annoying. I know BFC have fixed several causes - clearly you found another one. He will eventually start coming back. However that could take a long time - depending on the map. I have, on one occasion killed the guy myself (area fire from a tank) and on another occasion I requested my opponent do the same.
  15. And here I was trying not to spoil it for you. I'm not saying anything more...
  16. I like the look of the second and last ones except for the colour. I have to say I do not like the colour of any of them. Looking at some colour pics I see that freshly cut steel is ranges from light grey to very dark grey. Any colour casts would be from lighting not from the steel. I would argue that the penetrations should be neutral colour cast too. This image is nice simple steel plate: The next two are pretty shinny but still just a light grey: This is actually from a armour plate test - nothing to do with WW2 but the point is the under lying steel is well a dark grey.
  17. Sorry mate no can do. All you can "mod" is the look of gear, uniforms, UI etc. You cannot change the behaviour of anything. As a friend of mine pointed out to me a while back this game is not really mod-able, it is skin-able. BTW I believe BFC have taken the correct approach and not allowed changing the in game behaviour of units or gear. If they did allow such modding, it would wreck the ability of people to play against each other. Or they would have to spend effort making sure both sides were using the same mods. Either way I would prefer them to spend time making new content instead.
  18. Yep, my point exactly. If they were not tagged then they would just work in QBs.
  19. Actually, please, please do not tag your mods for general consumption. Tagging means more work for the rest of us who just what to use mods generally. I think the new tagging feature is really interesting and I think scenario authors can do some neat stuff with it. However it is someone who is working on a package of coordinated mods and scenarios that should do the renaming work. If authors tag all their stuff then most of us have extra work to do if we want to use them. That would be the wrong way around IMHO.
  20. I can agree with that. It was a joy to play and the joy lasted a long time:-) I played as the Brits and it was a great experience trying to crack the layers of German defense. Since you are not finished yet I will not spoil anything. Which side are you playing?
  21. I have not watched the video yet - to busy playing but I noticed he gave the story an 80. What!?!?!? the story of WW2 is 80 out of 100? I don't think so!
  22. Direct hit yes - possibly a few too. I have never tested a size so I cannot speak to that. One of my opponents destroyed a stone bridge with direct fire from a PzIV or two. At least I think that's what he used.
  23. I am noticing a change too and keep meaning to actually test it - still have not done it though.
  24. They are annoying indeed. Here is what I found works. First position the sand bag wall as close to the way you want it. Yes, as close as you can - the sand bag walls do not seem very flexible. Next position the gun in the same AS as the wall. If it is not nicely centred the way you want give it a face command. Repeat adjusting the face command just slightly until you get what you want. If you cannot get it right move the gun away and then back again - repeat giving face commands. Obviously this really only works during setup but that is usually fine for guns since they don't move around much anyway. Sweet!
