  1. Apparently, it's not the mod. I asked this same question a couple of weeks ago...The Airborne Infantry and Infantry formations in the selection screen share the Special Teams pool, and so some are in airborne unifroms and some are in infantry ones...which really doesn't make a lot of sense, but hey, watcha gonna do?

IIRC, the first team in the list of multiple ones like scouts (?...not near the game, atm), is the airborne uniform. Other teams like the AT team have only the infantry uniform.

  2. Umlaut, apparently it's determined by when the administrator(s) are able to get around to reviewing it. It could also be that you uploaded it to the wrong game...at least that has happened to me before. I'm sure you know all this, but for others who haven't uploaded anything yet, the upload screen is not the best for showing the options as to what game (CMBN, CMSF, etc.)and what part of that game (Mods/Scanaios/Maps) you want to upload into. The first file/scenario/mod upload option box only gives you two options into the game that you chose...Mods and the general Repository area (in CMBN, that first screen with the highway tutorial if memory serves). But if you do multiple uploads at one time, the second and subsequent files has the option box giving you all the possible BFC games in which to upload. If you're not paying attention, like me at 3:00 am one time, you can end up uploading it to CMAK or whatever. The default should be to the game you chose the first time. Plus, you can't load a picture at all until after the mod is actually available, unless I'm blind (which could very well be the case, it seems lately); then you have to go back in as if you want to download your own mod in order to edit in a picture.

    BFC, fix or somefink. :)

  3. RockinHarry, I have spent the better part of two days trying to figure this out. My head is spinning. I read that 24 bit bmp's don't support alpha channels, but 32 bit does, and the CMSF discussion confirms that. But I thought CMBN bmp's were 24 bit??? Anyway, I'm still pretty lost--I need to figure how to do masks and alpha channels in Gimp...quite a bit different than PSP.

If Aristotle or sdp read this, can one of you jump in and tell me how you modded all the foliage and bocage files?

Thanks a million to everyone who has chimed in. I'm determined to figure this out because there is a lot more modding to be done over the life of the CMBN franchise.

  4. LOL, Ithikial, join the club! I was planning to do the battles of A Co. 1st Batt 505th AB from taking La Manoir through the German attacks, then do the 325th's attack across to Cauquigny and beyond. But when Normal Dude announced that his La Fiere map was almost done about a month or so ago, considering his expertise from CMSF and with CMBN, I let it drop for the time being. Than sdp's Italian Mod took over, and I'm now firmly in Italy for a while.

LemuelG, great job and I like how you kinked the bend on the east end of the causeway. On mine, I've only got the marsh, causeway and roads (partially) laid out, and the Cauquigny church almost done. The building to the north is a placemarker for La Fiere village, and the two on the south of course mark the Manoir. I'll finish it one day...just to finish it if nothing else. But I'm looking forward to playing on yours.

  5. So far, the shoulder patches mod using EZ's uniforms are only for units that fought in Italy (though some of course later fought in France/Germany). I am slowly working on the units that fought in Normandy.

    So far we have:

    1. Shoulder patches using EZ's uniform mod for Italian Campaign/MTO

    a. Khaki (Brown) uniform

    b. Olive Drab (stock) uniform

    c. airborne unifrom

    2. Boots and Gear as modded by EZ without any input by me, but they complete the set and the pixeltruppen's morale because they look so spiffy. They are all in one folder, because there is no conflict between those files, and the folder can just be dropped whole into the z folder. I could have just added this set to each division/unit folder, but then the size of the upload would have been too big and I'd have to break them down into Part I and Part II, which is just too confusing, and led to errors in uploading my earlier mods.

    3. Older mods by me with nowhere near EZ's skill. I nuked all of them in the Repository and GaJ's CMMODS site, including those for Normandy.

I hope that clears things, a little. Don't get me started on the Repository's clunky interface...it led to the naming "error" for the OD uniform (the title was to match the other two EZ/shoulder patch mods so that they would be easier to identify as a set).
