I have considerable time flying the KA50 in DCS and it is remarkably easy to get within 10km of your target using terrain masking.  With the numerous tree lines in southern Ukraine, I would think it would be easy to get an experienced single or two ship formation into position.  Then all you need is a relatively small gap in the trees to designate and fire, sometimes there is no need to even pop up.  That close to ground clutter it would be hard for any ground-based system to acquire and lock.

Now, if you have air superiority the game changes.  Any aircraft with look down/shoot down capability can really ruin your day.

Of course, this is all based upon video game experience, but then again isn't why most of us are here?

I don't think people are shocked of the losses, but the way those losses happened. 
The biggest unknowns where how these yet to meet forces would perform. Yearly indicators now point to somewhat competent Russians and struggling Ukrainians.

Combat range of a ka52 is ~300 freedom miles, so that means any helicopter base supporting defense is in storm shadow range. Presumably UA knows where they are based, so that might be a nice juicy target.

I wouldn't call 20% of the Ukrainian Bradley inventory "minor".

I specifially mentioned, i know losses are invitable, what im talking about is vuhledar style attacks, that achieve nothing but kill crews.
Driving over it the first time, ok, a 2nd time? Right next to the other killed vehicles? People had a good laugh when Russia did it now this falls under a normal, expected per the book military command?

Okay, before I lose my cool🫠: am I mistaking that these are new Bradleys, that tried to drive around the older Bradleys, that have already succeeded in demining activity, and got blown up in the same line, which probably contains the mine belt? Or were those just not visible in the first pictures?
They all look abandoned after going over mines (which means easy pickings for drones with grenades and artillery, btw)
And please dont start with the "its an attack losses are standard" what makes me angry is that this appears like a zhukov style drive forward and explode command, not a battle. Especially since this appears to be a 2nd attempt at driving through there. Maybe a 3rd "probe" will do.

They are too bunched up. Too close together. Something is not quite right.

Geolocation shows this tightly-packed mechanized group being hit by 152mm  before they reached exact frontlines, in mala Tokhmachka.
Certainly there is at least 1 Leo2 hit. To be expected, though I hoped for less direct approach too...well, time will tell.

Not the crews, commanders. Where are the mine prowlers? UR belts? Heck, even 4 guys with minesweepers if you go down a single road anyway. 
If there are none, why commence the attack and waste lifes, resources to establish that there are in fact mines and arty correction drones.

If they can put HE through specific windows in Moscow at will, that's some serious messaging.
 

One more loss among UKR pilots. Major Vladislav Savelyev, probably Su-25 pilot of 299th tactical aviation brigade, though his friend told he was "fighter-pilot". Was shot down on 2nd of June.
He had a dream to travel to Norway with his family and friends. Now they will filful his wish - his ashes will be scatterd over one of Norwegian fiords.
 

Not F-35s but the Aussies seem to be increasingly interested in sending F/A-18s to Ukraine. Think I remember @Huba bringing earlier reports of this development to our attention.
I do agree with the spirit of your comment. If anyone wants to announce any additional military support to Ukraine, this is a good time to do it.

Time to start a humanitarian aid operation secured by a significant military operation. Park US Navy offshore and secure the airspace.
