  1. It will be a nice improvement if my Apache could just adjust the mission instead of canceling the order and issue a new one.
  2. When starts, I sent my forces mainly to two directions, left valley and right hill. Also I sent one or two scout teams to the middle to enhance my spotting. Positioning my T-90 in the woods. Trees sometimes can help you to absorb some javelins hitting. When Bradleys are spotted, I ask my tank to concentrate their focus on where the Bradleys supposed to be. If I remembered correctly, some Bradleys have APS(however you cant tell since ERA and APS versions are the same), so I try to use tank to kill them. BTW, I suspect US army has UAV hovering on the battlefield. I lost quite a few inf due to precision artillery strike. So move infantry from time to time if you don't want too much casualty.
  3. But why it can't penetrate 90mm side turret armor?
  4. Hi, I have a real question on IS-2 early model's front turret armor. While I was playing Soviet Campaign, I found that IS-2 early model's front turret is very easy to be penetrate by Stug III(I lost three due to front turret penertration). However, Stug III almost unable to penetrate IS-2's side turret. According to my humble and limited knowledge, I think there is something wrong here. As long as I know, IS-2's front turret shall have 100mm armor and side turret is 90mm. From the decal I see, the hit is exactly on the front turret and nowhere near mantlet. If I am wrong anywhere, please correct me. Thanks.
  5. I found this related topic
  6. I'd like to drive my mounted inf to the to-be-secured target area as close as possible to avoid long tedious dismounted inf moving stage since sometimes you even need to cross open field with little cover. And also I wish I won't get snipe while moving in the open by javelin team or Russian ATGM team from somewhere I can't possibly detect especially with full squad in the car. So I may compromise my own blindness for enemy's blindness. BTW, I doubt both armies, US or Russian, don't have any tube-launched infrared obscuring smoke rounds. I'd like to have someone just tell me 'no, they don't have them!', then I would just be happy with what we have in CMBS.
  7. All right. Smoke seems not so useful then.
  8. Hmm, I know the 1.03 patch notes says AT-14 can now be fired inside building, I haven't seen it happened so far. Maybe because of campaign or scenarios I've played so far doesn't give much chance to do so. From my experience, Javelin rarely automatically fire at infantry target in CMBS. If my memory is correct, I only saw this case once or twice. I understand that it is painful to waste precious missile to infantry when this rarity happens.
  9. I am currently replay CMBS Russian campaign missions (I have to confess this is my favorite campaign so far) and try to have sort of different play style comparing with my first try time ago, which is laying heavy smoke on the target buildings before my assault. I found it interesting that my BMP sometimes can 'see' through heavy white smoke laid by mortars or 152mm heavy arty and enemy also can see through it with small arms or .50 cal firing at my assault teams(Yes, I am talking about last two missions). However, according to my experience, tank or IFV's smoke charge can block opponent tanker's view quite effectively. Are they two different kinds of smoke in CMBS modeling? Since they are both white for me.
  10. Thanks for the document. I would have nice 12-page good reading time.
  11. If it will deplete, how many rounds can they intercept before they are grayed out for Arena or Trophy in game?
  12. In CMBS manual, page 9, it says, I am just curious to know whether this' detailed document' is out or not?
  13. Played Night Jump. 3 KIA and 33 WIA. Completely surrounded the lonely village and pressed Russians to nowhere. I am just surprised my KIA is so few comparing with my WIA.
  14. My plan is to spread out my forces and use several initial given squads securing the closest target area Obj Hammer quickly. One BMP-2 with one inf squad crossed river to secure the right flank of Hammer, CP325. Two or three squads and US advisors with support of the vehicles securing the right flank, CP333. Then you know, one lonely beast T-72B3 stopped my attack to Obj Anvil. I have to say the T-72B3's optics is too good. So I just shift my three tanks to the left until I discovered two ATGM teams. At that moment, I found that Russian has reinforcements! One platoon fresh T-72B3 with hordes of BTR-82A! I doubt I can defeat these forces frontally, so just leave one BRM-1 to call arty killing ATGM teams, order tanks and other forces to retreat a little bit monitoring the Obj Anvil from its left side. The rest of the mission is defend task for me. Drive tanks from position to position trying to get good ambush spot. Call F-16 patrolling the air. Lost two tanks unfortunately and the last one got hit on the track and immobilized. I am quite desperate at this stage, however, I struggled for the rest 20 turns I think until time runs out. At last stage I try to touch as many CP as possible to get points. Touch 7 CPs giving me 350 points plus inflicting enemy casualty which giving me 100. Russian didnt achieve any objective but only inflicting heavy enemy casualty which is 100. So at last 450 vs 100, tactical victory.
  15. I managed to get a Tactical Victory. I don't know whether this result will affect which subsequent mission you'll get. Since the brief tells that our forces withdrew from Chapajevka.
  16. Thanks for the reply. It would be easy if I have a full squad and split them into several teams. Sometimes I only have several scout teams. However, I admit that it is always good to have several teams covering one team to go forward.
  17. Hi, I have the situation that I find hard to deal with. My squad enters the building discovered both vehicle and enemy squad. However, they shoot the infantry first and exposed themselves to autocannon on the vehicle and got cut down in 1min. If I set armor target, they can shoot vehicle first but they will do nothing in 1 min and shot down by enemy infantry. What is better orders to deal with this situation? Thanks
  18. I suspect there are drones and they have target reference points.
  19. My question is, if I stay still and spotted (?) in 500meters , how many turns do I need to identify the objective in treeline?
  20. I feel so far Oplot spotting better when unbottoned.
  21. Using BMP-3 as an example, if I order "target", it uses its 100mm gun and if I order "target light", it uses its machine gun to fire. So how I suppose to ask it to use its 30mm autocannon? And for BTR-4E the same thing, I don't know how to order it to use its AGS-17 since "target" goes for 30mm and "target light" goes for machine gun.
  22. So to avoid time rush, we may need to preserve all the vehicle we have. Taking taxi is far faster than on foot.
