  1. I had not seen it mentioned if so sorry - it is of course to us
  2. I have down loaded this three times from the rep and get no game-- it is an unfinished map and no troop choices -- what i am doing wrong?
  3. Yes there is a scenario of the battle mentioned early J Panther vs churchies TWC Sudden Fury --by Micheal Dorsh-- it is fun -- I turned into a much larger battle do not remember where I got it
  4. My most fav battle is Born again at Prokarovka-- by fire I mean the vehical burns and the field also catches fire-as it dead a lot in that scenario- it mentioned over and over in my Normandy books- --so quite historical-- now tanks - I have been playing the same two battles over and over - just switch tanks--MK4 are truly "mess kit tins" as they were called-- the L38 or 41 of the Sherman or Churchill is hard on them -- the 75 mm over matches the 50 mm of the front turret much less the 30 mm sides - and even handles the drivers plate The Churchie is pretty tough and will take a L-48 hit or 2 and survive- sometimes- ---shermans and MK 4 are hard each other I can not tell the differences between cast hull or not in the Shermans - have tried the Jag Panther and sometimes they matter and sometimes not so much - tried three KTs and same as JPanthers not so much at least so far- Panthers are good in the 15-20 , 30 minute games I have played over and over but have for me a tendency to turn side ways - and with Panthers that is a no no - but they do it often - can not tell why- but would like them to stop - I really feel for the MK4 guys they are in the same boat as the M4 sherman at least for a while- notice both of them are M4's -sorta ----over all //while I have not tried the cromwells the 76 Sermans and the Panthers are my fav-- love the infantry fights looking forward to all the up coming stuff all the best --keep the good stuff coming-- i have been here since CMBO and have no place else i would rather go
  5. The CW module has the IV in early-mid and late The book tank gunner is a good read and he was at times in PZ IV with the L70-- which while like was at times a problem--due the extreme frontal length of the gun tube
  6. The bazooks in korea- were 3.5"--say about 90mm- they worked well --
  7. they were different guns--built different, main gun ammo were different -same cal. 76 mm -- velocity was supposed the same - as to the lineages all i know is what Zaloga said I do not know
  8. on page 106 in Armoured thunderbolt -by Zaloga-"Ths best american antitank gun of the time was the 3 inch gun, which had been derived from WW1 antiaircraft and coastal defense guns" he goes on to write that it was reworked to be M1A1 76(T1) -as the 3" in the M10 was too large to fit the Sherman turret- the 76 mm was cut down from an L57 to L52. M. Green does not mention the history Hunnicutt does not mention the history of the weapon just its adapation If one will go to Scribd ---Zaloga and hunnicutt are there to be read and much more
  9. I too have wondered about the76mm blast-- Steven Zaloga says the 75 mm had 1.5# of propellent--- the 76mm 3.2 and operated at about 38,000 psi- the L70 had 8.2#-and operated at 48,000+ or- In the process of puting a 76mm in the M4-- they cut 15" off the barrell- some of the compliants about the round were smoke, obscuration, it could be the round and propellent were optimised for the longer barrrel -so the smoke and blast went way up in the shortened barrel-- a long primer that ran from the base of the hull to the base of the shell was used later and helped with the smoke-- it would seem that the cutting of the barrel not only lowered the velocity but may have cause d other problems as well-- one last thing -- the 76mm was at times a Naval weapon -- so smoke and balst were less of a concern
  10. while I am sure that H2H is the way to go-and while I have been here since CMBO I have never tried it-- maybe one day- the QB are worth using- when I come for lunch - -30 min is just right but you really need to pick your own for the game -- the AI will do a good job and as the attacker he as a 3to 1 advantage bascially in points-- I have not made a map in a while as the QBs maps are fine- but I also down load what ever is put up -
  11. it might be much more accurate as to what is or is not if we wait unitl the gamecomes out? of course where is the fun in that
  12. sorry not to repost-- I went and unstalled and went back up with the patches-everything is just fine and have played a number of QB -- I had to turn off avg before I could install 1.21 but all is good thank you for help
  13. I have the retail version-- I know I patched 1.10 bought the 1.21 then on to the two Battlefront patches-I do not remember 1.20- I think I will just uninstall and then try again -- will let you know -- thanks for the answer-- I intend to keep this game
  14. I lost my down load copy of SF so I picked up a Paradox copy then patched it up to current -- I had the right color sand until after the patching - I am using A dell xp Nvidia 7300 LE - cpu 2.8 but everything worked until the patching any suggestions-- I have black sand-- I do not want black sand:(
  15. the charge in a APHE round is not large --it would shatter the thinner walls of the base of the shell but do nothing to the solid area of the front-- it would seem that this would destabilize the projectile and limit additional penetration--
  16. It is not unusual to find stories that a panther or "88" ,would shoot through a building and kill a Sherman on the other side-- HT can be penetrated by some shell frags- and heavy machine guns-- - multiple penetrations on HT by the L70 is more than possible considering that the round would go through over 4" of solid armor at 1000 meters
  17. there are 18 battles I think - and five campaigns--plus quick battles and the battle maker all in all quite good
  18. no I have not begun to play them all-- tw0 so far-- and I will swap sides --then if i like the battle I will modify them - I own just about all BFC has put out from CMBO till now -- --I started rereading the 20-30 books i have on Normandy so I can make my own -- thanks for all the answers though-- oh I know the repository will some soon --I also pre-ordered the question was an observation not a condemnation
  19. why so few battles with the game --yes I know you can make you own but you guys are the xperts on how the game works --
  20. I preordered CMBN --I think if made CMcc--=commode combat I would at least try it -- any way -- here is some of the real cost of what we love to play in Normandy by D Francis -every one hundred meters the US advanced costs 100 causalities--on July 5th the 83rd division advanced 200 meters -- it cost 1500 killed or wounded =-- After two weeks of fighting at Sainteny -- the US advanced 5-6 Klicks the cost was 7000 causalities -- I look forward to playing the game and making battles- but the real thing was a blood bath
  21. THANK YOU THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH -- THAT IS ALL i WANTED TO KNOW --enough yelling- I really enjoy the CMFS series and I am not ready to lose them thank you thank you -- it is late
  22. issues using the ATI 5750 and CMSF-- I was thinking about upgrading and this one was recomended -- I am not conerned about CMBB or CMAK just CMSF
