  1. Soo... is the spotter idea out the window? And I didn't see any sniper pictures in the v1.11 screenies. Did I miss them?
  2. I think adding accuracy but also increasing aim time will allow for more balanced gameplay and also being able to use snipers as they are intended. Another thing I think would improve the reality of the game is taking out the 2 "wingmen" and replacing them with a spotter who carries an m4 or m16. Under normal circumstances, both the sniper and the spotter would shoot at targets but the sniper would be less accurate. Clicking deploy would cause the spotter to put away the m16 and lay/crouch (like the HMG) next to the sniper and increase the view of the sniper. The sniper would then shoot more accurately but slower with the spotter not shooting at all. maybe a 10 second setup time? Also, if that idea is to farfetched, perhaps target light from a sniper team use only the sniper as a shooter for a certain distance but every one if an enemy pops up close by.
  3. Generally, the one shot one kill motto fares well but in CMSF, the snipers are really really inaccurate. I've had immobile targets about 50 yards away with prone snipers missing shot after shot. Sure the one time the bullet hit, it was a K.O but it takes way too long for a sniper to kill something. Any opinions.

  5. Huh... interesting. Though this is out of my scope, I do hope that some1 with a greater knowledge of this will come to the rescue. If i had to take a guess, it would be that your missing some textures. If you haven't, uninstall and reinstall your game and delete any mods you have at the time.
  6. I've browsed around and have heard someone doing this or that to the alpha channel to change the way a texture looks. What exactly is an alpha channel and how does it work?

  9. Yes. That could be it. Try pressing ALT-K to get smoke back. A way to check if you smoke is on is by watching dust trails behind vehicles. If theres a vehicle traveling on dirt, there should be dust. If not, then just do the above.
  10. I also have this problem for battles that have huge numbers of units. I have a Vista SP1 1.00 GB RAM Intell Core 2Duo Processor T7100 1.80GHz I have not yet had an out of memory crash but I notice that the computer uses 100% of one driver and almost none of the other. Is this problem going to be fixed?
  11. Friendly Fire only happens with things that are larger than grenades. There is not friendly fire with nades or bullets.

  13. Its the DDay 2008 on CMMODS (version a la Jak). a recent map so looking at he uploads chronologically will bring it up. AT times, the move order now is very very useful (the first picture where it saves me a lot of time) but sometimes, pin pointing is a little better (dense MOUT).
  14. I have some picture representations of what I mean: VS In 1.08, the units moved a little out of the way so that they wouldn't just clump but now, they move to completely different action spots. Its kind of annoying especially when commanding large numbers of spread out units.
  15. I've been playing around and until now, the relative move orders haven't really been getting on my nerves. It's the way that if i select a bunch of units in a line and move them somewhere, they will form up in a line at the waypoint that I selected. At times, I want a group of units to converge on a single location instead of standing next to each other in the same pattern as they were when they moved out. Is there a way to do this? I'll post some pictures later because its a little hard to describe.

  18. preeeetty nice map there permanent. It was really fun playing it over and over, especially during the review phase of wego.
  19. uhhh I'm not sure what you mean by "Camera views 3 or higher" but If you select a unit, press tab, then your camera immediatly locks to that unit. Press 1 and you see the world from its point of view. press some other numbers and other view modes pop up.
  20. lol At least you know what direction the live guys are facing at a quick glance.
