  1. Following Stagler's suggestion: SPRUT_SD and BMD-3 on the background? PTS-1 BMD-2 BMD-4M
  2. There is a whole debate among personal weapon enthusiasts wheather modern optics of "small" or "medium" size give any kind of help over a simple iron sight shooter. What can we say is that US army and marines for sure think they give an advantage, hence their wide spread issue to combat units, although we might argue if the costs/benefit is more or less efficient.
  3. Hi all, looks like there's a good bounch of vehicles that future modules for CMBS could include, so I'd like to see if we can pull out a list of ideas, you never know bfc forgot something. I'll start with some goodies: Ukraine: BMP-2 (bar armor version) Looks a bit more than a field modification, since the armor sections are well designed with respect to the vehicle shape.
  4. Not sure if this has been mentioned, what turn are we looking at and how many are left? Thanks,
  5. Thanks for uploading to youtube, helps a lot.
  6. Thanks for the AAR, as a structure feticist I'd like to see some closer look to those mills/power plants/pumping station and the villages...
  7. med you are right, but as you pointed out xmas/end of the year is a non--productive period, so those two weeks would not mean development going on, it would just be postponed. So it gets out before xmas or mid january in my opinion.
  8. I wouldn't dare calling people who are fighting a war on their homeland unprofessionals, untrained, etc. and all this constant bashing is in my opinion uncalled for, especially from a forum dedicated to video games.
  9. It's very interesting, the ATGM hit exactly the little area behind where the arena has no coverage.
  10. In my opinion anti aliasing is a very important graphic feature. the difference between a 3d environment with or without AA, even of the basic type and high resolutions, is huge (you need to look at an image at full screen size to see the difference, not to mention with the camera in motion). The special filter did not have AA in CMRT, I have not seen anything in the patch notes, and moreover, seems the feature is missing also in CMBS. AA is still present in CMBS without the filter on. AA is also a feature that can't be considered of a very high end, since it's quite old now, it has a lot of variation in terms of available tecnologies, it keeps advancing every year, and it's something common in practically all new game software by years now. So, in conclusion, the problem was not corrected or nor recognized as such, so the special filter option has no AA and the resulting image is of a lower quality. We can argue of tastes and such, but the lack of AA in special filter view is something that can't be recognized in other way than in a degradation of image quality (if you consider a) what AA does, the fact that AA is in game without the filter on). Then it's up to the single user to suffer more or less from this situation. I am lucky enough to sport a good high resolution with CM games on my computer, but all those who need to use lower resolutions will notice the problem much more. Personally that makes me not wanting to use such filter, despite the desire to and the improvement that filter does on some colors -for my tastes-. I managed to mod CMRT in such a way that the color palette is very close to that of the filter, and I could enjoy the AA feature, but that required quite a lot of work with the game files. I really hope this will be addressed some day.
  11. When I asked the author about this, back in CMRT AAR before CMRT release, he told me that the screenshots are resized and therefore AA seems to be on while it was not. I hope in CMBS this filter has the AA activated, thus my question.
  12. Hmm, given the differences I have seen several defensive works within the actual ukraine war, I hope they will be introduced with future modules. As regarding modern FOB defences, I belive some would find a correct place even in CMBS base game, as any engineer unit would be able to arrange such defenses for an FOB in few days.
  13. Thanks for sharing this. Question: is that screenshot taken with the special filter on? is anti aliasing working with that filter on? Thanks.
  14. The training campaign has been confirmed.
  15. Yeah, my main concern are roads, too many times I have seen wonderful scenarios but filled with zig-zag roads that you won't ever see in a real place. When I make a scenario I tend to go straight with roads, and until you keep it small the effect is acceptable, but I understand that larger scenarios can't have only straight roads, but yet, the zig-zag ones really hurt my eyes.
  16. Mord's right, in order to have a concrete modern looking we really need modern elements, something that can be recognized. The new road bridges surely add a very modern feeling, not a case they were showcased with the first screenshots. But more is needed. Flat roofs allow for modern structures, but in the end it's up to the facades. As all stressed out, cars would be very useful. I understand there are no irregular units in game, such as in CMSF, but those two vehicles in the old game, the pickup and the taxi, just let you add those environmental details that really gave the setting a modern and living feeling. I hope these two vehicles could be added as flavors and I belive importing them from CMSF should not be a huge task. If we are going to have Tiles for a parking lot we desperately need something to put inside it, no civilian vehicle sof any sort would lead to ghost towns, and all buildings would in the end look like training sites (they add cars to real training sites too!) Playing a game set in eastern europe without the chance to ever see a car/car wreck/abandoned civilian vehicle of any sort would be quite odd in my opinion.
  17. I belive we should really start separating what's real facts in actual ukraine crisis and CMBS game. Not only because CMBS, being as good as it can get, is still a video game, but mostly because the setting is so different (despite some people won't go further the geographical names) that the battles/campaigns won't in any way be close to actual and recent events.
  18. T-84 sure is a very interesting asset. Despite the low numbers of most advanced vehicles, I am sure it will be interesting to see Ukraine military units against russian units, and I belive there will be more balance than there was with BMP-1, BTR-60, T-54, 55, 62, 72 syrian forces of CMSF used.
  19. Can't see the stream afterwards, I hope it will get loaded again.
  20. If it was for me a couple more moderators would not hurt, there will be some more troubles, it's inevitable.
  21. If it was for me I'd like to see new countries rather than what we saw in CMSF. I do realize Uk and Ger make the most sense, but, for example, Italy and France would bring a lot new assets and different organization. In the easy, as Others pointed out, Poland has a very interesting armed forces composition, but don't forget Turkey. Actual forces obviously need Marines and VDV units. But I would also keep in scope Naval Infantry for the reds and Rangers/Delta/Seals special units for the blues. Apart from that I do not support the "vehicle pack" commercialization method adopted by BFC, but that's just my opinion.
  22. BMD families etc. there's a lot, true. T-72 tanks, being older refurbished ones or newer versions would be a nice addition to game, in the end it's a very common asset in eastern countries. Moreover, if you add more countries to the game scope there will be new options for advanced T-72 designs.
  23. Wasn't this discussion about T-72 tanks?
