AFAIK, UKR are already controlling all important heights. Basically, both Berkhivka and Bakhmut are shooting galleries for UKR arty. I suspect UKR are moving deliberatly slow in order not to use any new forces and also not to spook RU into full retreat. I think UKR are waiting for the main party to start to create a big crisis there as well.
 

Well, this is how Russia is solving their ammo shortage; fewer guns means less ammo required. QED.

There is good comments here about flamethrowers as to how they work in the game.
As pointed out, generally, if you have them on defence and can set them up where the line of sight is also limited. Like dence woods. They can spring a nasty suprise on the enemy.
On offence as pointed out, very hard to get them in the correct  location without being killed.
What might be important to note is. If you can get them to fire on enemy infantry, its almost a gareentee to kill them or at least break them and make them panic and run.
So I have found with breaking the enemy. You do not need to hit them to get the break and panic. just need a near miss to get that result.
So you can area fire and get that result if its next to the enemy.
So on offence, you might be able to not move into line of sight, but move into a spot where they cannot see you and you cannot see them. But you can still area fire into the action square next to them. which will do the job sometimes without being shot down. Also because of their great inaccuraccy, they might actually hit the target and then get you a gareenteed great result.

On a lighter note: Germany currently plays its 1000th international football match vs Ukraine. Currently, Ukraine leads 1:2, but it's still one hour to go

At least it seems they didn't take too much casualties, apart from vehicle losses. Bradleys/Leos are replaceable. Hopefully they can get re-geared soon. 

I highly recommend looking at this Wolski's reconstruction of events, regardless of various quirks of his reporting here he made a very good job comparing data and geolocating. They seem to find traces of 2nd and 3rd column, too. Hard battles were there, undoubtedly.

A headline writer for TIME had himself a bit of a moment:
I am pretty sure that spot in the nation's history is already taken by another event.

"I reconstructed and geolocated the route and losses of one of the two columns of the 47th mechanized brigade. Of course, I also used the work of other OSINT people, but many of the given locations were inaccurate and the place of the destruction of M2 and L2A6 was wrong. Freeze frames from movies added to the orientation of what was where.
This column had a difficult fate: it was surrounded by drone-corrected artillery 3x, it defeated 2 groups of mines, and finally, while overcoming the second one, it fell under the fire of Ka-52's Wihr ATGMs and ATGMs as well as artillery. Really KUDOS to the soldiers of this battalion because they went through hell that day.

I will translate later big article of Mashovets about this. In short Russians ALREADY moved most of own reserves.

Then Russians will throw all available reserves to "further east" direction. Thus, we have to attack on several directions and cause distracting of Russian reserves to other problem places

UKR artillery hit at least one T-72 on southern outskirt of Robotyne village. But more interesting here a look of multiple fortified positions
 

Russian TG RuVesnaZ claims they now have trown to counter attack units of 127th MRD, which with aviation support push off UKR from Makarivka and Storozhove.
And in the same time other Russian TG channel wrote UKR troops push SE of Staromlynivka and aviation doesn't support because bad weather %)

Some our "armchair generals" already plan such things - to attack on the section Dniprorudne - Vasylivka, when the water will go further and the bottom will dry. 
But historically this wasn't flat place. This was a so-called "Great Meadow" - homeland of Zaporozhian Cossaks. The region of southands small rivers, creecks, tiny lakes - it in more modern times called "Dnipro plavni" - the meadows, which flooded after snow melting. 
Locals already are finding old artefacts on the bottom of reservoir. After the war it will be holiday for "dark archeologists"

The place of old bridge, I can't understand where it can be... There wasn't bridge between Nikopol and Kamyanka, only a ferry. Germans tried to build, but hadn't a time, only several concrete pierces were seen from water.

They do roughly what we did at Vuhledar -looking at spectacular remnants of failed attack. Given these are much-fetishized weapon sets, it would be strange if they didn't, frankly.

It's claimed these patches were taken in Novomayorske - the village on far eastrn flank of V.Novosilka salient. There is no firm information yet, this village is liberated

I posted yesterday this video, but here is more compact and full version of this "cavalry raid", including approaching and aftermath. Also became knowingly geolocation and attacking unit. This is 59th mot.inf. brigade, place between Pervomaiske and Staromykhailivka, but closer to latter (southern flank of Avdiivka axis)
- UKR troops rapidly approach from the side of trench flank on two combat HMMWVs and one truck-HMMWV, carring full squad.
- combat HMMWV heavy supress the enemy, until assault group dismount from three vehicles
- Russians withdraw under heavy fire, but three of them shot dead, while crawling
- truck-HMMWV delivers ammunition and probably AT means for troops, which now will hold this position 
Russian milblogger says position was taken because probably personnel didn't spot approaching of vehicles in time and confused after being shelled

Our mine clearing - it's pizda. One hasn't communication with a driver, other just rejects to drive [on mission], the third didn't arrive at all, the forth has launch fail of his "Gorynych" [UR-77]. How it's sicking this planning
 

Just human nature, the basal instinct when confronted with danger of "flight or fight" doesn't include surrender. Couple that with shell shock and they're probably not thinking rationally.

We can safely assume that both sides have an agenda in what they post or don't post. Opsec must be tremendously important to UA right now that they almost entirely cede the PR battlefield to Russia.
