Question about AT weapons in 1.31
CharlieMike24 replied to Fūrinkazan's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Okay...so you're all a bit shocked. I shouldn't have threatened to strike. How about I apologise and just ask that it's recognised as a bug. I have anger management issues. I only want to blow up a few tanks...... -

New Walkthroughs for Nato Module
CharlieMike24 replied to tyrspawn's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Very difficult scenario. This demonstrates how many hazards exist in assaulting an urban area. I'm not even a baby tactician, so feel free to disagree. I wonder if rather than a central attack, exposing units to fire from both flanks, if you'd cleared one or other flank then advanced to enter the built up areas in strength from one direction, you would have had the Marders in closer support of your dismounts. I guess I need to try it myself!! Keep up the good work! -

Really enjoying these videos. Audio balance/timing much better now. Good luck with the final assault! -
Modern Warfare 3 most realistic EVER
CharlieMike24 replied to Lt Belenko's topic in General Discussion Forum
Yes, I probably had Java virus already, and it was activated by the Java running adverts on the webpage. Didn't want anyone else to get it, so over-reacted. Sorry for casting aspersions. Now if I'd been wise and approached this with an open mind..... -

Patch v1.21 Release Date: November 11th!
CharlieMike24 replied to c3k's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Or....... 11 X 11 = 121 and .......121/100 = 1.21 !! QED! -
Is it when you can't quite get the creases out of your uniform?
-
What a excellent mod. Greatly increases the immersion. Thick plumes of black smoke are much better than the thin stringy smoke you get with Combat Mission:Shock Force. Brilliant

Oooh.... I love a happy ending!

Just to report that the new ATI driver Catalyst 8.1 has caused shadows to be drawn out of place and too large! I rolled back to Cat 7.12- all okay -reinstalled 8.1 and same error. (8.1 is better for CMSF, though!) I have an ATI X1950 Pro with WinXP SP2. Uber patch installed. I have reported this to ATI I wondered if anyone else has this problem?

Pike, Captain Mainwaring would have something to say to you....

I doubt that your graphics card has much to do with the problem. Have you shut down background processes - I've used FSAutostart to free RAM. I also had a few system freezes until I disabled the redundant soundcard AC97 from System>Hardware>Devices.

Theatre of War "Uber" Patch Details and Sneak Peak Video!
CharlieMike24 replied to Madmatt's topic in Theatre of War
Why....are we expecting any? -
I found the gunnery accuracy too high with artillery/tanks making my first attempts playing TOW short-lived! I reduced the values in the data/ai/levels textfile under the Shooter/Gunlayer heading by about 50% thoughout the Novice-Elite categories. This reduces the gunnery accuracy of both my enemy and my own army... but leads to a longer game-play with more chance of manouevering and tactics - I still get beaten, but at least I get to see the battle unfold!

English (UK and US) war songs of WW2
CharlieMike24 replied to Sneaksie's topic in Theatre of War Modding Forum
Well...that font of all Knowledge - Wikipedia - suggests that the song originated in 1939 and developed along several variations. Its certainly catchy Wiki reference [ October 31, 2007, 11:34 PM: Message edited by: CharlieMike24 ] -

For the British, this has got to be...... Hitler has only got one ball, Göring has two but very small, Himmler is somewhat sim'lar, But poor old Goebbels has no balls at all. This is sung to the Colonel Bogey March theme. -

Does not launch - with Moscow error trap #3

I understand how frustrating it must be...nothing like computers to suck up your day and leave you in the dark and disappointed. Looking at your list of attempts, I don't see that you've mentioned updating your graphic card drivers. (Especially as you mention its new !!) You should have version 163.71, released on the 28th Sept. based on your set-up. I got the details from Nvidia.co.uk. Excuse me if you've tried this already There are experienced posters here, especially Sneaksie and Battlefront.com (aka Steve). I doubt you'll have to wait too long for them to reply. -

Stanley01, I suspect you have looked at these ideas already, but from other threads: Update graphics card drivers Turn water detail to low (if you can even get that far) Uninstall, then delete application folder and re-install One of the threads even suggested reinstalling operating system If all else fails, one of the moderators can (hopefully) help you.... -

Hi Have you tried the fix from Madmatt? If this doesn't help then try opening the game by running the TOW 1.4.exe file in the game directory. Hope this helps -
Yes, register at CMMODS.com and download the various Quick Battle Maps. Depending on which maps you use there's a choice of map sizes or large maps with a choice of force size. These have greatly improved my enjoyment of the game. Search the Modding forum for threads with Mishga or MarkEzra for more details and how to install.
