  1. Redeploy in buldings need 2 min and 20 sec ....
  2. I play Sudden Strike (Real Warfare Mod) since 10 years and we never use the pause button during the games to give commands before the big attack, during enemy attacks or to warn buddies of incoming air-attacks. Its a multiplayer rule since ever.
  3. The thing is that CM was never designed for RT play. (i know the definition of CMx1 RT mentioned in the manual ^^) It is by far the most complex game out there but during a multiplayergame ONE player needs to manage all units, in RT, with all their abilities, with all the commands etc. That is a NOGO without pushing the pause button every 10 sec. RT might work at a very small map but at bigger maps you will loose overview only minutes after the game has start. You are unable to start a well timed attack etc. because you can only give orders one at a time. While you focus a tank attack at one area on the map your infantry will be overrun at another. One of the most important sentences in CMx1 manual was " do not try to exploit the system ...." Now its total easy to exploit the **** out of the game and your opponent and win the game during the first few minutes of a 2 hours game simply by overcharging your opponent .... (call it pace of combat, i call it bull****) When i play RT-MP against my buddy (we are 10 years CMx1/Sudden Strike vets.) without pause, the game becomes a total mess after a few minutes. CM becomes Sudden Strike, nothing more and nothing less. (but in Sudden Strike i have 5 other buddies in my team watching and commanding the units in my team - big difference) And thats what i say again and again. The RT-MP in CM needs more players to compensate the overcharge or we need back the WEGO mode. Otherwise nobody needs the highly developed damage model, LOS, AI and moral system with dozens of different commands. We just need "run" and "shoot" ......
  4. Pressing the pause button during a RT 1vs1 pauses the game at least 60 sec. To prevent regardless use of pause and unpause during a battle and gives both players time to counter any actions given during the break !? Any meanings about that ?
  5. As the title says why is there no preorder for downloads only ? No problem from my side to support BFC but i live in germany and iam not willing to pay 35$ for the game and 27$ for shipping :-)))))

  7. I tested it so many times while trying to understand the mechanics with the same results. I would not call it a bug, its just an engine problem i guess ?
  8. Sorry but maybe its my fault (my english) what prevents you from understanding what iam talking about ?! What you told me and what you suggest is NOT working. Last time: A hidden gun is hidden, the enemy cant see it so it is safe. A hidden gun cant spot anymore and cant see any potentially targets in its FOV. The very same gun on overwatch at the very same position is not hidden to the enemy. Why ? Whats the difference ? The cover-arc does not have any affect to the ability of spotting the gun. Isnt it strange ?
  9. This game needs the very same function like we had in CMx1 ! Hide yourself, take cover but overwatch the battlefield - DONT fight until the enemy is very close or moves into your firing-arc, BUT DONT expose yourself/your gun to the enemy. That was so simple and it worked. But now it doesnt ... Hide now means "stick your head into the ground and do nothing" My alternative as a player is "just stay where you are and get spotted by every honk miles away ..." And on top of that all i need to give EVERY unit a covering-arc to prevent them from exposing themselves prematurely do to gunfire in order to have the ability to overwatch the battlefield but without the guaranty that they are hidden. Jesus that is so crazy ... in realtime MP its a no-go.
  10. And here we are ... Hidden units cant spot tanks ... that is the dilemma here ! Yes i want it back. The only way to play a complex game like CM is whether in WEGO-mode or with AT LEAST 2-3 vs x in realtime-mode. (in my opinion, of course ..)
  11. ok but that does not work with AT-guns for example. I placed a 17pdr between trees and brushes and behind a hedgerow. (the small one) (in CMx1 it would be scattered trees) When i set them on hide they where hidden to the enemy advancing tanks but where unable to spot anything. I reloaded and gave them a covering-arc towards the attacking tanks. Now they spotted the tank but did not fire. (LOS but no LOF ? another example for bad mechanics because as a player i NEED those information) The tank itself spotted the AT-gun within 10-15 seconds and started firing with MG. What was it that the tank could see ? The gun ? The men ? 2 Rounds later the ATG was 100% suppressed and after some 5 minutes all men where dead. I repeated that with all my guns at several positions without any success. Whether i found a position where they could not see/could not be seen, anything at all or they where spotted by enemy tanks way before they even shot at them ... How can i lay an ambush ? Whats my alternative, gameplay wise ? That is what i call unplausible game-mechanic, and a game need rules, some kind of ... We all had that in CMx1 (with another engine, of course)
  12. What about the ambush problem ? Units on "hide" are mostly unable to spot anything which is more than 5 meters away. So my units lay totally useless in the woods or behind a hedgerow, window with heads in the sand ? ( "i dont see it, i dont hear it, so its not there" behavior ? ) Thats another totally frustrating thing here ! I can perfectly hide behind my window and overwatch the whole street in front of my house without getting spotted by anyone outside !! Why not ingame ? Its the same when hiding inside woods or behind hedgerows. I can melt with vegetation BUT CAN observe any movement !! Not a bug, sure, but gameplay wise its bad. Those are only a few similar problems i have with the game. 1. Spotting behavior ( all kind of) 2. Identification speed/effectiveness (took the units only seconds to identify other units EVEN snipers several hundred meters away) (at Elite) 3. Hide and spotting ability (as mentioned above) 4. mortar effectiveness (point-target and line-target ... ) especially during WEGO 5. "Ant Trail" walking behavior of units. 6. Speed of reaction even to flank or rear attacks (mostly tanks) 7. placing ATG´s with good field of fire AND cover + hide and spotting (AT-gun on hide cant spot ..... this is NUTS gentlements) 8. use of explosives on a hedgerow makes the sapper run through the gap afterwards .... why ? 9. no WEGO in MP (my biggest personal problem at all - realtime with hundreds of units and orders to give is NOT an option) and please dont mention the PBEM mode .... its 2014 in 3 months ..... ) 10. only 2 players in realtime mode means no multiplayer experience at all. etc. etc. etc. Far from being perfect, thats my point.
  13. Not for the barrel, for the human eye its far away, especialy when there are so many trees, hedgerows and FOG .... Besides that, we dont see with our eyes its the brain which creates the pictures. But anyway i dont like it how all this affect the gameplay negatively. Frustrating is the right word
  14. Another module is coming with new soldiers and some bridges ... nice, will buy it anyways ... but PLEASE BF, take your time and fix the main game mechanics like the whole LOS system. Here´s a screen which made me angry because this happens every f.... time. The stupid laser-pointer/thermal view mounted on every unit is absolutely unrealistic. Over and Over again the player can see that CM:BN is just a Shock-Force derivate. Its foggy, its 500m away, its behind dozends of trees and brushes but the stug hit with the second shot .... http://s14.directupload.net/images/130920/baomdcqp.jpg' alt='baomdcqp.jpg'> You never know where to place an AT-gun because you cant fu... tell: does it see anything, can it shoot anything, does it have good cover ...
  15. when i copy these part into my "hotkeys" file i end up with blank buttons ingame ?!! How can i change my hotkeys ?

  17. Installing 2.0 Patch means there is no need to install 1.11 first ?! Its a bit unclear here ...
  18. The native resolution for a Full HD monitor is full HD ..... The ui scaling is bad, changing the resolution is not really a solution, ... in 2012.
  19. Using a thermaltake cooler (air) and g.skill memory, but its just ordenary stuff.
  20. What is better for the result, retreating a tank with a dammaged gun from map or let him stay until game is over ?
  21. No problems here with Core i5 @ 4.5 GHz and GTX 460 - win 7 64 bit. Best thing is that there is enough power to run the biggest maps with 4x4 fsaa super sampling.
