  1. I LOVE this idea! Have you sent Hubert a mail with this idea already? Should be the easiest solution.
  2. @ Sombra: Basically you are right... Germany had advanced tech, but wasn`t able to produce it in large numbers... as the most german units were immobile low tech infantry units, it`s right. So I would say that the realistic situation was as follow: Germany had IW 2/3 and HT 5, but PT was inaccurate.. and they didn`t have anymore MPP.. and very few upgraded units. Since SC2 should be more lesse realistic, I would recommend that it should be possible for an Axis player to reach the same state in the game, but I find this really difficult with 750 Research Cap.
  3. Yes and now... the german tech was way ahead of the Allied tech in the late stages of the war..
  4. Linking it to a certain year is good... i.e. no HT Level 5 in 41... and if Russia decides to buy IT Level 1 in 42, they get it as soon as they invest the MPP. This would take a bit of luck out the game... and if a country just reasearched Level 1, they cannot have level 2 quicker than half a year later.... or similar. Basically it should be worth considering to link prices for certain tech levels to the year it will be purchased, i.e. buying the level 3 IW chit in 1943 should be cheaper than in 1939. Apart from that: another idea would be that buying of high level chits is cheaper once you have achieved the levels close below.... if I have tank level 0 and buy 5 chits in 1939 to boost it, my scientists won`t have any idea about the necessities for warfare in 1944. But having seen the T34 in 1941 they will have it easier in 1942... What do you guys think?
  5. Regarding the maximum MPP to be spent on Research I need to say that it makes life harder for the Axis (which is basically okay), but it REALLY makes research boring coz if you want to win the game, you need to do it in a standard way.. otherwise you get whacked. I know the comment "if you don`t like it, change it in the editor", but most people like to play the normal plain vanilla version... and we are talking about the normal version, because everyone wants to use in Multiplayer. For that reason I`d say: okay, 2000 for Germany was too much, but 750 is way too low. Makes research kind of a standard thing... can be almost scripted. Agreeing to Sombra, increasing the price for tech Germany needs would be one possible solution.

  7. As I thought it... no females around? Are we a kind of gay community or is playing wargames a male thing?
  8. As far as I`m concerned there were two occasions were Germany and the USA met under almost even circumstances in WW2... one was Kasserine Pass and the second one was Huerttgenwald. In both cases the Ultimate Warriors got their arses kicked. Btw: I think Major Spinello´s Post deserves a Nomination for the best post in this forum
  9. @ JJR: yeah, your right.. America is spreading its way of life everywhere, and everyone is happy... esp. "the saved parts of Middle East". They are so happy that they celebrate with fireworks every day, esp. in Baghdad. Apart from that I`m so damn happy about the way the whole world learns much about the healthy food you can buy in the USA where 60% of the population are obese... I think it will be good fun to read in history books about a funny superpower which killed itself by overeating. I live in a city with an american garrison... funny and comfortable people, but I have never ever seen so many morbildy obese persons.. If they will force me to eat that **** over a longer time period I would reconsider joining the mujaheddin... Basically I think the time were the USA can lead large scale ground warfare operations are long gone coz they would have to send all the fatties over... this is why they rely on high tech so much.
  10. Diplo is quite realistic in one way... it is quite unsatisfying coz you don`t get anything back, but you get ****ed if you leave it... just like in real life...
  11. I tried to install it twice, but it tells me that some ELincense file is missing.. do I need to wait for the german publisher?
  12. Multiple attacks is more for tactical games and not on a strategic scale... Panzergeneral IV had this, but is was tactical. But I also agree... it should be possible for an army to move, attack once and then move again in two weeks time... it`s not too unrealistic. As long as there are enough movement points, this should be possible.
  13. Basically I think if Hubert would have any reliable information on the timeframe, he would give it to us... so keep the good old "when its ready" in mind..
  14. Basically that will be the Future of SCII... at the moment I think it more an engine than a game... more scenarios to follow. I dream of a Panzergeneral-like campaign.. and I`m pretty sure we will see that sooner or later. I would even buy a scenario or campaign package, because people who do all that work deserve that someone pays them..
  15. Basically this is the reason why I will not play PBeM... SC II is partially luck (i.e. Diplomacy and tech), so you never know wether you opponent had luck or needs reloading... so you need someone in the same timezone to play TCP/IP.
  16. Move them somewhere in the open plains... that forces the Axis to use some of their troops to hunt them down...
  17. Are you speaking about playing the AI or multiplayer? If it is AI: this problem will be fixed after the first patch.
  18. Blashy..... I know you must not say anything officially, but what do you think.... are we very far away from the first patch or are we closer than we think?
