  1. Wow, that's a long thread for my video To clarify one thing, it's not a review: I always post an impressions video while I am playing each new game I review, and in this case the video took an overly negative tone. The reason for this is that I felt most people who were going to watch the video were familiar with the CMx2 games (since they have been around for five years) and the general features, so I spent most of the time criticizing things I felt could/should have been improved since the inception of the new game engine in 2007; if I were to go back and re-record, I would spend more time highlighting the good aspects of the game (of which there are many) to balance out the criticism. As I will in my full written review.
  2. (just kidding...feel free to mess with and improve any of my scenarios)
  3. The map looks eerily similar to Abu Susah. Man, if I were the author of Abu Susah, I'd be pissed! ****SPOILER**** I am the author of Abu Susah and I'm not pissed.
  4. Since we get a new forum, here are my scenarios I previously listed in the main forum: http://home.comcast.net/~jaguarusf/James_Allen_Scenarios_of_Doom.zip and http://home.comcast.net/~jaguarusf/ContentsUnderPressure.btt
  5. Yeah! Out of Eight rulzzzz!!!!!111!!
  6. That's what I get for making a scenario in 45 minutes. And I hope that's the soda form of Coke.
  7. I'm like butter cause I'm ON A ROLL: http://home.comcast.net/~jaguarusf/ContentsUnderPressure.btt
  8. Actually, I gave red an additional tank before but removed it because it made it too easy for them It's small b/c it doesn't contain any briefing graphics.
  9. Dude, it's only 12 kilobites: http://home.comcast.net/~jaguarusf/LastHarrah.btt You can, like, totally play it as the U.S. or Syrians...that would, like, totally rock for multiplayer! W3rd! We, like, totally need a scenarios forum! W3rd!
  10. Saying my scenarios "don't count" and were "rejected" makes me sad
  11. Rejected. The developers had to "clean" them up: adding more varied terrain, flavor objects, etc. So they just didn't have time to do all of that for each one of them and I didn't feel like (or have time to) doing it either. They all work and can be played from either side. The basics are there (units, different objectives, multiple AI plans), just not the flair.
  12. You need to create a custom profile for CM Shock Force.exe in the control panel and make sure the options match up. If you have AA off, it needs to be off in the control panel, not just "application controlled."
  13. I just found out about TAB...pretty cool.
  14. Try to set the affinity to just one CPU while you play the game.
  15. Yeah, no optimizer = long time before freeze. One CPU = no freezes...so far.
  16. Having them both set to "on" or "off." I turned them off and the game is a lot smoother with no noticable loss of detail.
  17. Make sure you have the same settings for antialiasing and multisampling in the game as in the nVidia Control Panel...this increased my performance dramatically.
  18. It's shift...not control. Control moves the camera.
  19. Hmmm..this may be a different iteration of the Dual Core Optimizer bug. Either install or uninstall it (whichever it is not now; simply run the downloaded file and it will choose automatically) from this page: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html at the very top and see what happens.
  20. Others have said that removing the optimizer AND changing the affinity does the complete trick. Use Task Manager (ctrl+at+delete), go to the processes tab, right click on CM Shock Force.exe, select Set Affinity... and only have one of the two checked. Oh, and you can only change the affinity while the game is running.
