  1. After action reports show that "Popcorn" proved to be the most useful setting, narrowly edging out "Sensor Reheat".
  2. Honestly, I'm looking forward to a good Stalingrad campaign. I love urban combat, and I think it would be cool. Russians in late-war might be fun. Massive artillery and infantry supported by a tank brigade, breaking through a weakly held German line, then beating back the heavy-armor counterattack.
  3. Who the heck are you talking to? Droning? You know that you only live to see what I might say next! </font>
  4. Justicar. You disappoint me. Are we to throw to the winds the hard work of the F.I.S.A. committee, the hours spent in conference with the stenographers, the blood, sweat, and tears that we have poured into this issue? To ignore the conclusions of a creation of the Justicariate challenges the legitimacy of the entire institution. You, of all people, should know the value of law, order, and beaurcracy. I humbly request that the Justicar and the Cesspool at large review the reports made by the honorable and big-headed NG Cavscout and myself. These will show the facts, the truth that rleete is wholly unqualified to take stoat as squire, and further that Seanachai's status as an Olde One gives him the right to do as he will. Thank you for your time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a meeting with my stenographer and that of Sir 37mm, who doesn't seem to be giving her the proper guidance in tackling the task at hand. The three of us, working together, can no doubt get to the bottom of the matter.
  5. Apparently, the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment is performing exceedingly well in its efforts to quell the insurgency in Tall Afar. A few quotes: However - Congratulations to the 3rd, and hopefully the rest of the U.S. Armed Forces can achieve that sort of effectiveness else where as well.
  6. Any being capable of spawning one like Peng surely warrants the deepest respect. I assume that when the operation turns out well, we'll be alerted?
  7. Oh good. I would be a shame if we put innocent people of the wrong ethnicity into internment camps.
  8. Has anyone heard about the sequels? It was intended to be a trilogy, with books about the Italian theater and the NW Europe Theater. IIRC, the Italy one was supposed to be coming up soon.
  9. Last I heard, they were having trouble intergrating full movie playback with the real-time option. As I understood it (feel free to correct me), it might well be that games played as WeGo could be fully played back, but not real time ones.
  10. And to be fair, the Wafflers don't post so often anymore. Hell, their thread spends half its time on the second page, unlike the glorious Cesspool.
  11. Wait till he reads my conclusion - two sets of numbering, plus even more feeling!
  12. John - Issue #55 wasn't in the archives, so I couldn't read your article. It's not a huge deal or anything - my father is a meterologist with NOAA, so whenever someone mentions weather, I try to weigh in. Thanks for the offer, though.
  13. "Death Ride of the 424th" has the German player taking a bunch of King Tigers through Russian lines, and fighting IS-2s at close range. It's a fun time, and a lot like what you describe.
  14. Backspace will delete the last order given, so yeah. I'd be careful about the horizon. Get a big map without knowing it, and whoops, turns out there's a good 500 extra meters of map you didn't see.
  15. John - big, big difference between weather control and environmental modification. It's fairly simple to change the landscape through a variety of ways to induce erosion or flooding. Creating or preventing precipitation or controlling the temperature or pressure is a whole 'nother story.
  16. Hey, I love it..green on green! </font>
  17. No. Maybe you could change the sensitivity for the controls using your computer setup, but in-game, you can't do anything. If you want something faster than the arrow keys, use the number pad. They move the camera faster, and you can use the numbers at the top of the keyboard to quickly switch views.
  18. Adults wouldn't be having a silly and pointless argument like this. And akd's our guy with the Iraq pictures.
  19. In reviewing the historical Peng threads, I looked for evidence regarding rleete's treatment of stoat as a serf. I separated my evidence into two catagories - evidence that rleete was a proper master who deserves to retain stoat as a squire, and evidence that he wasn't. 1. When stoat sent his picture into the Justicariate for inclusion on the hallowed website, the Justicar mentions that stoat did so on rleete's instructions. However, a close examination of the MBT reveals that no such instruction was given in public this means one of three things is true. Firstly, it is possible that rleete sent stoat a private e-mail instructing him to do so. Secondly, stoat sent the picture of his own voalition, and lied to the Justicar, saying that it was at rleete's behest. Or thirdly, stoat sent the e-mail of his own voalition, and the Justicar assumed that it was at rleete's instruction. Clearly, this is a matter that must be cleared up by testimony. Towards The Bottom Of The Page. 2. On December 27, 2005, Stuka issued a Blood Hamster match against both rleete and Nidan1 for the right to boss stoat around and otherwise take over masterly duties. Can Be Seen Here. rleete responding lower down the page by saying Not the words of a true master, in my mind. 3. On January 9, 2006 (Towards The Middle), NG_Cavscout wondered if anyone had taken stoat as a serf yet. rleete posted 9 minutes later - yet made no mention of his ownership of stoat. It fell to moi to point this out to NG_Cavscout. Had rleete truely been fufilling his duties as master, he would have done so himself. 4. rleete's original proposal of stoat for serfdom can be found here. It is uninspiring, to say the least. Anyone who proposes a serf merely to "annoy Old Foul Joe" deserves to lose the right to first refusal. At least when the Justicar mistakenly makes stoat a serf to Nidan1, rleete manages to point out the error. 5. When Seanachai does propose stoat for serfdom, rleete waits until two full pages later to respond. A good master would have been there earlier. And his defense seems to consist solely of the fact that once he sent Seanachai some alcohol. Barring any new revelations that should come up in testimony, I am ruling in favor of Seanachai. I do so for several reasons. 1. He's an Olde One. That should be reason enough. 2. He frequents the MBT far, far more than rleete. Though Seanachai may have a history of latchkey squires, at least he's around, even if not actually instructing, or whatever. 3. rleete has shown no real interest in possesing stoat in any way. He made him a serf to irritate the Justicar, failed to defend his honor, and only recommended him for squire after Seanachai did and forced his hand. Thus I come to my conclusion. stoat should become the squire of Seanachai.
  20. I assume that all three parties involved in this matter (Seanachai, rleete, and stoat) will testify before the panel? Of course, Seanachai being an Olde One and all, we can't force him, but will the F.I.S.A. panel have authority to force rleete and stoat to testify? As for myself, I have begun a review of the historical record of previous Peng threads, to determine the events leading up to the matter and locate the facts behind the whole situation. Expect a report soon. [ February 12, 2006, 03:45 PM: Message edited by: juan_gigante ]
  21. I'd like to volunteer. While I am only a squire, I feel that I am qualified to serve, and will explain why here. 1. I am young, and reasonably new to the MBT. I believe that my generation of Poolers needs to have their voice heard on this matter. A panel of a few deeply entrenched members will not provide as fair, diverse, or accurate a conclusion as one which includes myself. 2. I have a good, proven track record of beneficial research for both the Office of the Justicariate and the Pool as a whole. Example 1: It was I who discovered stoat's real age, as he attempted to posture that he was older than the Justicar. 3. I am a good writer. Look at my recent AAR as an example of my skills in composition and argument. I feel my qualifications and loyal service to the Peng Challenge Thread have given me the right, nay, the duty to serve the MBT as best I can from a seat on this panel.
  22. Emrys, you been enjoying this weather we've had lately? How's it been up where you are?
