just like at the box cover...
Earl Grey replied to Tankgunner's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Well, well, well, what do we have here? Not bad at all, I might say. And it might maybe not be too bold if I add that I wanted to have the vehicle in the background in front of my house... -

Well, don´t we all look forward to him modding everything that´s in the game? *g* -

I humbly recognize my mistake and bow my head in reverence... I actually spoke of the DAK PzIIIM - it seems it´s the only one left without your textures... I declare hereby that I will be penitent for causing so much inconvenience and purge my soul of such evil schemes! (A little bit of self-irony is the grain of salt you need to make a day a good one...) -

I wondered what you would do next... now I know and I was right. One question - as always - is left, though: What of the PzIIIJ? It seems this one needs a retouch, too... -
I actually think there´s another Jagdtiger behind the first one - might as well the case that they tried to tow a broken-down tank with another (though it was forbidden) and the second one broke down, too. Then they´d set the tanks on fire so the Aliies couldn´t get their hands on it as the US repair system was quiet efficient as far as I know.

Worst Airstrike I've seen.
Earl Grey replied to Panzer_M's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Worst/best I´ve ever seen: CMBO - Westwall scenario 1945 The enemy was advancing with three tanks and a lot of engineers on my three bunkers and few platoons (mostly Volkssturm). Then the planes showed up and dropped their bombs. After the battle had ended, i checked and found out a 105mm Sherman had been killed by his own air cover. CMBB - Korsun 1943 Had a platoon of Tigers and a platoon of Panthers advancing on a hill on the far edge of the map. (you should know this scenario) All the ISU´s and KV´s and T-34´s popped up and got knocked out by my tanks. I did not loos a single man or vehicle till the last turn - when an IL-2 knocked out one of my Panthers, killed three or four crewmen of the other tanks and damaging a few guns. Ruined my statistics... -
News on system requirements?
Earl Grey replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I´m actually asking myslef HOW you manage to run Win98SE on this machine - mine gave up with an Athlon XP 1800+, GeForce4 Ti4200 and 512MB RAM... Anyway, I think my old machine will not be good enough. But an new one is on the horizon... -
**!SIX! North Africa Sherman Mods!!**
Earl Grey replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Well... it seems to me the new textures help my tankers to better kill Shermans. I guess they weren´t able to distinguish betweeen the tanks and the surroundings before. -

I´m really amazed seeing all those nice Shermans... the game plays definitely better now. Thanks to you, Mikey! So, what will you do next? -
Well, maybe it´s ´time-sensitive´- anyone who encounters this problem maybe post the date and the time, too? I think it´s just a connection issue, nothing grave...
-
Looks very good so far... Do you think you can do all the dents and scratches, too?
-
I can assure you, it works. Tried it 30 seconds ago with success. Though soetimes I can´t connect, too - maybe cozog is updating the server now and then or too many people uploading mods...

How many of us are or were real tank crew members?
Earl Grey replied to oren_m's topic in T-72: Balkans on Fire!
Right now I´m in Germany. OFFICIALLY it should still be summer. Actually we have temperatures about 3-7°C, I guess, and it rains A LOT. OK, yesterday we had 25-30°C, but that´s an exception. Today: rain and about 5-7°C... And thus it was for the last few weeks. I haven´t really seen anything remotley resembling a 'summer' yet - only if you count those two or three days with above 25°C in between... -
**ALL your Sherman Vs are Modded!!**
Earl Grey replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
@Mikey: Sorry, didn´t know there is no hard evidence regarding the use of black/green camo for the ETO Shermans - not my field of expertise. I do know more about German camouflage as I have researched the topic for months. Most of the time without any real and logical conclusion, though... -

Earl Grey replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Might it be possible to do a black/green camo scheme on a few Shermans? I always liked it, but I´m not that good at modding yet... -
All my best wishes and may be god with you and your daughter (if youß´re a religious man, anyway). It is always a sign of hope - at least to me - when new kids are born. Our children are the ones who will shape the world when we are gone - so teach them what they will need to do it and tell them what mistakes you amde so they can hopefully correct them...

Anyway, it´d be nice to have some hard evidence how CMx2 is progressing... Steve´s bones are nice to read, but until now, I´m actually not really satisfied or even excited - there´s just not enough... yeah... EVIDENCE. Hope you´ll understand. I REALLY CM as it is now, but I´d LOVE to see (and taste) how the NEW CM will look and - more important - feels like...

Yeah, you´re doing a really good job. Keep it up!

My guess: metal cuirass on a Soviet paaratrooper... I think they used it like Gertman stormtroopers in WW1 - I might be mistaken, though. Don´t know if they are bullet proof, but should offer quite a bit of protection for a soldier.

*cough* cough* Fireflys anyone?
Earl Grey replied to HeinzBaby's topic in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord
No problem. Happened with the grey AndrewTF TIger mod, too... I was the first to check and to tell. I´m gald if I can be of assistance. -
@ Panoramix: Sorry, meant no disrespect. It´s not the best day I´m having today.

Sorry to say it, buth BMP no. 3293 is missing for the Fireflies... -
Tried it. Seems to be just a WMV file, but my Media Player can´t play it, because it´s an unknown protocol. Whatever, but I think it´s fake. Anyway, 67MB for a CMAK video? How´s that supposed to work?
