  1. Just thought I'd share this funny experience: This summer the family and I spent some of our vacation in Normandy (guess who came up with that brillant idea?). And as we were entering Cherbourg I noticed a place and a sign from one of the photos I used in the background set.

I of course had to go back and take a picture - and try editing it in with the original:

On the way there I realised that another of the photos in the set was taken in the same street (Avenue de Paris, IIRC), so I took another photo - with my kids standing in for the GI's.

  2. This thread is quite funny, since the main gripe about CMBN I have been reading on these forums the past six years is from people complaining that it is not just CMx1 with "greatly improved graphics".

May I suggest that you give it more than a week before walking away in anger?

  3. I agree. Just watched it myself yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised too. A very good movie in my opinion. Being a dane, I of course find the topic interesting and have done a bit of reading on the subject. And as far as I can tell, it is very historically accurate.

But in the context of WWII, the invasion of Denmark was nothing but a tiny skirmish - and our country got through the war relatively unscathed.

By the way: A CM player named Hans made a great scenario on the fighting in Haderslev (the final battle scene in movie) for CMx1 (CMAK ETO mod set, if I remember correctly). I have been trying to recreate it for CMBN, but got stuck on not being able to find a historical map of the town to work from. Perhaps I'll try again some time.

Unfortunately, none of these snowy mods are downloadable.  At about 54% I get a 'download interrupted' message.  I then get a 'resume' option that doesn't seem to work at all as the download starts again...  ONLY TO GET INTERRUPTED AGAIN AT 54%

    HELP!!!!

Well, I just did a test download of one the mod sets - and it worked just fine. So I guess it might be a problem at your end. I am no expert on how to solve this, but my best suggestion would to try using another browser for downloading (I use Firefox)

    Hey Umlaut,

Thanks for all the snowy vehicle mods. Did you not do one for the Stugs in FB or can I use the mod from FI or RT? Cheers!

You're welcome. I've pretty much retired from modding now, but before that I did do a bit of work on the StuGs. Not sure if I ever finished them, though. I'll check and get back to you.

    Updated:
My "quick snow" versions of the StuGs are not far from finished, so I'll try to finish them soon. And them upload them.

  6. I seriously doubt that this is ever going to be a movie. This is reenactors with HD cameras, drones and (semi?)professional editing software. That enables you to make  HD footage in a stunning quality, but it is obvious that they don't know the first thing about how to shoot or edit properly. Not to mention the one thing that always cracks me up about reenactors trying to pass of their photos or footage as realistic: At least every third reenactor is at least 10 kilos overweight.

My point is: Having a high quality camera, editing and cool WWII gear wont make you a WWII movie maker any more that having the same stuff and a few cool sports cars will make you the director of Fast and Furious VII (or whatever number they've gotten to).
