  1. IS the vehicle list in the Demo really all that is in the full game? No Centurion, chieftan, abrams, challenger1&2, t80, t90, leapard2, m60 a1, a2 ,a3m t62, amx30, t64. Not to mention the tiny amount of support vehicles I know the game is meant to be a localised small scale tank war but really if thats it in the encyclopedia I am dissappointed with the variety. Are their plans for more? With interior views added
  2. very good stuff, shame about the song. I especailly liked the fact it showed the Abrams but not much of it. Reason: the Abrams is far too common, as in its hard to get footage of anything other than an Abrams.
  3. thats pretty cool. But the voice is annoying (thats the only sound I hear) and is there a way to fast forward and rewind?
  4. sounds like graphics drivers or heat to me. I have had similar problems with earlier games that froze the machine. U happen to have an ATI??
  5. does wheels of terror have authentic tanks?
  6. I saw the cover at the vid shop. Took one look at the tank and thought that it looked kinda gomo. Is it a good movie?
  7. Any good modern tank novels exist. Especially on the Russian side. Eager to see what memiors of real modern tankers tell And no Red Storm Rising does not cut it THe "ww2 Library" that is the kind of style I like puts together all the memiors of both sides and many different roles of a particular battle or campaign and orders them into a clear linear story line, with explanation from the author to pad both sides. Sometimes the memiors are happening in exactly the same time at the same place. This makes for a very interesting factual and action packed read. It also makes for a very unique style of story telling that comes close to the truth. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0440235642/ref=pd_sxp_f/002-4690939-4904864?v=glance&s=books THe books describe in detail the procedures followed by the crews or fighting men as they carry them out and you can learn a lot about tactics at the same time as having fun with the story which is often tense or paints a gruesome scene that brings forth the true colours of war THeir are about 20 books in the series of which I have seven, however I am looking for the modern equivalent. 8. I got this DVD from the local Blockbuster video shop. So all is good
  9. Anyone got a pic with 4 or more tanks on one side?
  10. You can press a key to remove the interface menus and this looks slightly more real. However you cannot actually see inside the tank as far as I am aware. This is not a game breaker for me. But would be nice. Fact is it would hardly be used, I mean how often do you use this view in operation flashpoint??
  11. Just beat the demo with the hotfix and wondered why the Leopard1 looks like its brand new minus the tracks? When the Leopard killed my T72 It sparked uncontrollable fires. Perhaps I did not hit the Magazine. As you can see I kept on firing hoping that the Tank would blow Even my intact T72 looks like it lost its tracks.
  12. So thats about 4 tanks (a platoon) on one side plus support and 8 on the other plus support. Thats OK A company would be approx 12 tanks. THat would be quite enough for me if the enemy had two tank companies plus support
  13. The new generation Russian tanks, are they actually in service now? Or are they useless prototypes? http://www.nemo.nu/ibisportal/5pansar/index.htm T94 Black Eagle
  14. OK Guys, I am talkin numbers here? How many tanks and infantry and support vehicles are in the game at once. Do you get to take part in major tank offensives ala cold war? Or is an all backwater, low key indi hero affair? I am talking Falcon 4.0 immersion here
  15. I love the graphics and the deformable terrain. Just compare the graphics to Rome Total War and you will see what I mean. This game has great potential and we have not seen the more interesting landscapes yet - forests and the like. http://www.battlefront.com/products/t72/screenshots/images/top44.jpg I recognise that in order to have even ww2 tank battles you need to be engaging at 1.5-3km. I have always wanted a game that could do this. It was one of the major upsets in a game like close combat ad certainly tanks would rarely fight like they do in battlefield2 which is complete BS but I still play it for the coop experience. The only game that comes close to this and is yet to be topped is operation flashpoint. However the vehicles in opfp are still very arcade and the terrain although more varied is much worse at ground level.
  16. sorry m8, I do not know how the movie ends, what I said was somewhere in the movie. Near the end perhaps. I really did see this a long long time ago. Its all a blur.
  17. I saw a movie about 5 years ago about a russian t72 tank crew in the desert, it was called the tank or something similar. At the end they are near a village that attacks and kills them??? Can't exactly remeber the name but want to track down and watch the film. Any other modern tank film suggestions also appreciated
  18. Do you have hyperthreading on? Turning this off sometimes fixes wierd issues

  20. I am curious if it supports realistic graphical representation of troop and vehicle numbers
  21. Thanks for the tips guys. I will look for the mod. I have a copy that I bought off EB in Australia and it does have CDV written on the box. One more question, do all the B2B maps and stuff work with the new version. Just wondering whether I need to buy b2b if all the maps and vehicles etc are importable? P.S. One more question, I am downloading ALL the AndrewTF mods and wondered whether any will copy over each other. I mean their are a lot of FJ uniforms (8 or so), if I install them all at once they will not copy over each other will they. combat mission would have great variety if they did not? 22. The infantry model hard coding is very bad news indeed. Doh Any chance the Devs will unlock the code now they are moving to a new engine? As for the rest I guess I will just go it alone and look at the electronic manual. The manual that came with my copy is just a QUICK start 2 page thing. Not what I expected from a wargame at all.
