What about Audie Murphy? This thread has been going on for 4 pages and nobody mentioned him. He killed like 200 Germans, was wounded 3 times, received 30 medals including the Medal of Honor which made him the most decorated US soldier in WW2. One of the things he pulled of was holding of a company of Germans with supporting tanks by himself with a .50 cal mg. Now thats an army of one. He finished the war with the rank of LT. After the war he also made a bunch of movies including "To Hell and Back". Just my 2 cents... for more info go here Doesn't that look like a Ruskie general with all these medals?

It's been at least 2 years since I played CMBO. The Carentan operation was one of the best times i had playing CM. Ok, first u don't fight pillboxes with armor, that's just suicidal. Kill fortifications with infantry. If I remember correctly I split up a platoon into teams and ordered them to go behind enemy lines. There they did recon, took out a few pillboxes, a halftrack or 2, and run into a company hq and killed him. Whacked some arty spotters too. And about the arty, aside from killing the spotters, all u can do is stay hidden or move from 1 place to another. P.S. I had more fun playing as the Germans , but that's just me I'm better at defending than attacking.

oh and a 120mm mortar forward observer got like 250 kills in an operation , but that doesn't really count cause the arty gunners did the killing not him...

100 kills for a scout car is the best i ever got. just pinn down enough infantry in the deserte drive through em and blast away with your .50 cal

what experience level were those piats? how far away were from the target? was it day or night? what were the weather conditions? also did u know that unlike the bazooka or panzerfaust which are propelled by a rocket the piat is propelled by a spring. i'm not sure but i don't think that would be very accurate in real life. i did a test with a piat shooting at stug from 50m- 1 shot hit, 2 shot miss, 3 & 4 hit 75m- 1 & 2 missed , 3,4 & 5 hit , and rest missed 100m- 5 & 7 hit rest missed 125- 5 hit rest missed 150m and > - all missed

my game installed properly. i don't know why yours didn't. maybe u don't have enough space on your hard drive and the installer only insalled only the most basic sounds. hope this helps.

i see that many ppl have a problem with too long ranges. but when the enemy is shooting at 1000m u can have some infantry sneak up and kill the gun/rocket launcher/shoot down chopper etc. from 50m. anyway in vietnam most fighting was close quarters anyway. that's where i think cm should head.

the first shot blew off tracks off of the tank. crews tend to abandon immobilised but otherwise unharmed tanks becausey they're sitting ducks. hope this helps.
