  1. You know, I have had the same problem for months. I have isolated that the problem does not relate specifically to any one bmp. I have found the problem relates to anything that is a large rendered grey metal object. This means most german tanks, mortar tubes and some gun types. Any suggestions?
  2. I have recently upgraded my whole system with the video card being a Radeon 9800 Pro. In the game CMBB I am getting enemy tanks drawn as all white. This also occurs for mortar tubes. I have upgraded to the latest driver with no result. Any thoughts? My system: Athlon 64 3000+ MSI K8T Neo Motherboard ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 1Gb RAM Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS
  3. I was playing an axis attack against the British with a 150mm Inf gun in tow. The attack bogged down on the edge of a town. I pushed my two tanks forward to wipe out the British armour, which consisted of 5 Crusader tanks. Needless to say this rash descision ended with two dead German tanks. However it did enable me to bring my 150mm piece into action. The Inf gun missed with its HC ammo and I ordered it to fire HE at the nearest tank which was 270-290m away. Based on line of sight, the gun had NO chance of a kill. I actuality what happended is that the gun engaged the tank and immobilised it. The second round saw the tank abandoned. The same occured for all of the other tanks. In one case the HE destroyed the tank on the first shot. So heres the question: Obviously the blast of a large calibre HE capable gun is able to destroy a tank? (Is this correct?) If this is the case, what size does the gun have to be to achieve this result? Will a 75mm or 105mm achieve the same result? Has anybody else had this experience? Or is the destruction of the tank a morale effect of have a big shell blasted against the side of the tank? I know i'd be pretty annoyed and shocked to have 5 to 10kg of HE go off next to my head. Any thoughts?

  5. Not the western front again... The Pacific would be interesting. Jungle, fanatic Japanese defenders. Admittedly there would be very little armour, but the infantry battles in thick jungle, small LOS, abundant large calibre naval gunfire and strike aircraft. They could also take in the Chinese and Burma campaigns.
  6. I get the same problem with the sound getting stuck into a loop. I have tried turning the sound off with no success. Its the same as toning down the graphics. How old are your video card and your soundcard? My soundcard is over 5 years old (Soundblaster Live!) My videocard is GeForce4 MX440, which is low end. The big I can't reconcile is that the whole machine locks up and has to be rebooted. I would suggest that this points to hardware. But where?
  7. Its funny you should mention this crash. I have the exact same problem. My machine runs anything else fine, AK, BB and BO now crash occasionally. I have updated eveything like you. I have also had the machine formatted with new installs of everything, to no avail. The funny thing is that I used to play BO and never get a crash, now it too crashes. I would suggest that it could be heat or the soundcard. After a crash you should have a look at the temp in BIOS. I found that after a crash the system was running 5 to 10 degrees C hotter than normal. I took the case off and cleaned all the dust and still have the problem. I also suspect it could be a conflict between the sound card and the game. All I know is that it is not software. I have tried for 6 months to fix the problem and I am now holding out for an upgrade.
