  1. thanks redwolf. where's the bug thread u told me to add to?
  2. what cmx2 needs is better ambushing. in cmbo we had the ambush marker and now we have the cover arc. it needs to be replaced with an ambush circle for which u can set the diameter. the cover arc is ok for short range ambushing but when i want to have my anti tank rifle ambush some tanks at a cross roads 280 meters away it will also fire upon stuff 100 or 10 meteres away and i don't wan't that. the other thing is cm needs a tool that lets u tell a unit what to target after it blows up the current target. a tiger ambushing 10 tanks on a bridge; first he blows up the first one and then the last so that the tanks in the middle have nowhere to run. 3. that would be cool [ April 12, 2004, 02:43 AM: Message edited by: yacinator ]
  4. I'm playing a quick battle in Crete, I'm on the German side and I notice that an airborne company has 2 tank hunter teams. I click on support but I can't find a tank hunter team. Can somebody explain why I can't purchase a tank hunter team separatly?
  5. How about pontoon bridges? In real life they can be made by tying togeter a bunch of boats together, but in cm i tried to put some assoult boats close to each other and have my troops embark one after another but it didn't work. That would add new tactical possibilties to the game. Also egineers should be able to put a deck over the boats so that units purchased from the "vehicle" section can ride over. More permanet pontoon bridges made of steel would be nice too. Also if the next cm game is happening in the modern times/nam/Iraq there could be vehciles that have a bridge on them that can be stretched out over like 30 meters (I'm not really sure, I'm just estimating from what I saw on History Channel) so that tanks and infantry can cross over. Now there are light bridges, medium bridges and heavy bridges. They should add Bailey bridges (I think that's what they call them) that can be moved in between battles in an operation. MP units should be availible. 2 kinds of MP units should be put in the game; normal MPs that are like cop and are armed with pistols and (I'm not sure about these) combat MPs that defended airfields in Vietnam that are armed like normal soldiers.
  6. Ok i will but my pinkie finger is lazy and it doesn't like to reach out and press shift.
  7. in current cm games there's a burning woods terrain type. how about a burned woods terrain type? or dead woods terrain type. that could be used to simulate areas sprayed with agent orange. that would make fighting more challenging because of what used a tank barrier now could become a flat desert perfect for an aromored attack. it would be a good idea if engineers could blow down trees so in an ambush a tree in front the leading tank and a tree behind the last tank would be blown down creating a tankproof death trap. also passangers can shoot. would be cool if the crew of a jeep died an infantry team could get in and drive. and soldiers can steal civilian or enemy vehicles. would be cool if cars actually crashed into each other. the last thing is a huge stretch but it would really kick ass if there were elephants or water buffalo. like the vc could ride the elephants if they were nice to them. the elphants should have morale levels. a normal elephant would just go about grazing (or whatever else elephants do) but a panicked elephant would charge at anything it sees. their morale levels would drop if they were shelled or got in the middle of a fire fight or choppers flew over them.
  8. no u r doing it all wrong! u hide by the road then when the tank drives by u jump on it shoot the guy thats sticking out of the turret and throw in a fire grenade
  9. ok so the daisy cutter is made from GX(ammonium nitrate, aluminum powder and polystyrene) and it makes an explosion 1/1000 the size of the hiroshima bomb. i said a small nuclear bomb. i'm not a grog so don't blame me for not getting the facts right. if u don't belive me go here: http://www.nd.edu/~techrev/Archive/Spring2002/a8.html P.S. u r talking about 1 sentence so u don't have any s' at the end of sentence. like u said "nice going" [ April 12, 2004, 06:49 PM: Message edited by: yacinator ]
  10. needles to say of course a nuclear gun was never used in combat. i just mentioned it becouse emerys talked about nuclear handgrenades
  11. would be cool if u had a convoy of helicopter fuel trucks driving close together and a sniper shot 1 of the trucks and it blew up and the truck behind it blew up and so on. incendinary grenades would be cool. also if i'm not mistaken they had these cool huge assed artilery guns that fired nuclear projectiles. also in vietnam there was this bomb called "daisy cutter" that was used to blast LZs out of the jungle. It was made from c4 but it made an explosion the size of a small atomic bomb. just think about it: don't take a hill, just evaporate it. it's dropped from a hercules transport so it was easy to shoot down. also i have mentioned this before but in an mg team everybody should have his own gun instead of the 1 heavy mg.
  12. if they play this as a simulation then don't u think they would have fow on jons?
  13. samurai u can tell engineers to blow up a bridge in cmak. everything else are good suggestions. would be cool if they were applied to a game happening in vietnam or perrsian gulf. the fuel thing would be cool. for ground vehicles it should be only in operations, but a helicopter could run out of fuel in a battle
  14. now that's a great idea. if u had civilians, in an operation they could be like nva sympathizers(?) in the first battle they could be unarmed and then picked up some guns from dead us or arvn troops and started fighting in the next battle. of course their experience level would be always conscript. even better idea: say there's a surrounded hill in an operation, at night a raiding party sneaks out they steal an enemy gun and turn it on it's former users in the next battle. Another idea:having separate ammo points for each weapon. also the second guy in a bazooka team should have like a submachinegun or something.
  15. how bout have an ai that can control boats? it would work for a ww2 game and (even more importantly) a game happening in nam. can't resist the temptation to ambush a couple of pt boats hehe.
  16. if that was directed at me go **** yourself Several thougths on this: He who runs away lives to fight the other day. He who does not fight achieves the greatest victory. Negotiating the terms of surrender or retreating is part of the game. It may minimize your loss. Ending a game (and admitting defeat), then starting a new interesting battle is often better than playing a few more boring turns. In real life wars, fights to the last man are rare. If you stand no chance and are still able to retreat - do it. If you are outgunned and in an unfavorable position you will inflict a few casualties and die. If you retreat and fight again, you will probably inflict more causalties in the future than you could now. "1 hell of a fight" is for movies. Starting a lost battle still demands that you concentrate on minimizing your loss. Gruß Joachim </font>
  17. no it wasn't. how bout from now on we just talk about what should be in the next cm game not that other crap. ok?
  18. i was just trying to say : don't tell ppl to go move to other forums. maybe "supress" was a too powerful word
  19. whatever happened to "fight to the last man"? anyway if u can't win u still can put up 1 hell of a fight.
  20. i'm just saying what i think should be in the next cm game. i'm entitled to my opinion and u r entitled to yours. this is just brainstorm and hopefuly bfc will consider what we r saying and put in the game. plz don't supress any ideas they r all good (most of them anyway). a game in the modern time or nam would add many new gameplay possibilities and tactics and that's why i'm lobying for it. most of what i'm suggesting applies to a ww2 game too.
