  1. I have no real knowledge of the readiness of the modern Russian army but I think Battlefront is committed to the backstory at this point. Somewhere however, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, IIRC Steve mentioned a possibility of revisiting Syria with the updated engine as they already have so much work done on the subject.
  2. 300,000 expected casualties? Surely that must include civilians as Seoul is within artillery range ( not that a civilian loss is worth less), but IIRC the planned invasion of Japan wasn't much more in expected Allied losses.
  3. Thanks, I only had looked in the NATO area. I bet it's a older version I'm already using.
  4. You buy the game, then in single player you can play anyway you damn well want to. Don't let anybody try and tell you your playing wrong because after all it's just play.
  5. In the Vehicle Pack thread Steve posted: The way I interpret this is they want a logical grouping of items so that future buyers can select which product to by if they are looking for a certain thing. Therefore it seems logical to me that the Market-Garden Module will have all things Fallschirmjaeger and all AA guns and vehicles even if they weren't involved in the M-G battle. What it won't have are things such as the Hellcat as though they fit the timeframe they would be a better fit for the Battlepack as they don't fall under the M-G theme or group of new additions. Bridges fall under the theme however so it is possible we might see the Pegasus Bridge or the ability to create a reasonable facsimile.
  6. Well if we have the M12 we have to have Hummels right? We had Hummels in CMBO! And 90mm M2 AA guns and M2a1 105mm Howitzers and some Sherman variant that didn't exist. Still, I'm happier with what we're getting with CMX2 in the end.
  7. All the better if we get the Challenger with the MG module, though I have no idea if XXX corps had any. For the Churchill, I was thinking the IX, X, and XI which I just assumed came after the VIII but your question sent me to check my Chamberlain and Ellis and I see now they were reworked versions of earlier models and may not necessarily have come later. I don't know.
  8. I couldn't find if this has been discussed before and it will certainly be very relevant with the East Front coming up, and already is relevant in CM:FI, but what disadvantages should and could be coded for tanks and other AFVs without radios? Obviously they will be out of command much more, but I haven't played with Italian AFVs enough to determine if they have worse situational awareness. CMx1 had command delays. Would such a thing be desirable to somewhat simulate the lack of a radio or would it simply frustrate the player using the vehicle? Comments?
  9. I know this thread is mainly on what we might see in a CM:BN Battlepack but some of the vehicles I anticipate being in the Bulge Family that we don't have yet are: Bulge Base Game: The Chaffee The M18 Hellcat The M36 tank destroyer Sherman Jumbos Hetzer Jd Pz IV/70 The Bulge Commonwealth Module might have: The later Churchills Archer Challenger A late war module might have: Pershing Comet Jadgtiger
  10. It's the same thing I had already put up on Green as Jade's site so if you have those there's no need to download these.
  11. Did some more poking. Apparently there were a handful of Char Bs used by the Germans in France '44 but mostly as flamethower vehicles. Some were put to use at Arnhem too.
  12. I will try my shot at one. No promises as to when though so anyone is free to undertake it.
  13. Perhaps your joking but personally there's tons of other things I'd rather see them spend their time on. I just remembered there's no Marder II in CMBN. Perhaps Market-Garden will remedy that but I'll have to look into its use in NW Europe.
  14. Is there a possibility at least that fire will be in CMX2 3.0 ? Thanks
  15. How necessary or desirable do any of you feel about including command vehicles? IIRC the Germans at least had one or two per battallion sometimes with dummy guns. With the new increased fog of war on enemy units they might be more practicle to use in CM games.
  16. Maybe that guy in Florida plays Combat Mission.
  17. I'm not sure what you mean by that. I always thought of the Soviets having quite a variety of vehicles. The same with the British. It was only the US that limited the types of vehicles it used in my opinion.
  18. Trying to answer my own question I've been poking around the net. Here's what I found: Brummbar were present in France starting in July '44. Though I found no absolute conformation, sdkfz 138/1 Grilles were being manufactured as late as September '44. They were assigned to Armored infantry regiments. At this point I would have to conclude they were in the theather the summer of '44. For the Nashorn, however, I found a site listing the deployment of heavy Panzerjaeger abteilungs and according to it none made it to France though it did confirm their Italian deployment.
  19. Well we MUST have a Battlepack with Finns in it don't you think?
  20. For the CMX1 games, some one created a spreadsheet for each game listing when each vehicle and gun (and perhaps infantry unit) was available by month. I could take a lot of time to research the scenario editor and create a similar document, but I bet something like this already exists among the Battlefront staff and testers. If I'm right, any chance of making it public? Thanks
  21. Fortunately, (I think) as I understand it, with CMBN being able to be updated this won't occur again. In my mind, the most likely final result for WWII, sometime late in decade, will be 4 Ostfront games and 4 West Front/Med games: CM:BN, CM:FI, Bulge to end of War, and a new North African family. Of course there may always be a complete surprize such as CM:Afghanistan was
  22. Hasn't practically everything CMX 2 sold better than expected?
  23. I think the German voices need even more work than the Brits. I also keep hoping someone will do a set of Canadian voices as I don't like hearing Canadians with a Southern US drawl.
  24. Nice find- Lots of great photos there. Thanks.
