  1. By "Angled" and "Round" bridges are we talking about the steel frame?
  2. But do they have wooden shoes? PS What German force gets the 50mm mortars? The Fallschirmjaegers?
  3. I'm excited to see a Moebelwagen. The first ever for any CM game. Does it convert from travel to action mode?
  4. Back to the original question: It seems to me the general consensus is that it's a Hellcat. If we're right do we win a full screenshot? Or can you at least tell us to keep guessing?
  5. After Steve's comments I'm re-thinking about it being a Hellcat and am going with something else that would really be way cool and that would fit in an Airborne centered module- the Tetarch.
  6. It's the Haunted Tank with accompanying Ghost of General Stuart. That's way cooler than the Hellcat.
  7. They already said the Crusader AA so that can't be it. My guess is the M-18 Hellcat.
  8. Wow, with Steve writing so much, he must not be too busy which means we're close to an official announcement.
  9. Just to show you Battlefront does like Poles here is the count of the times a Nation has been in a game. USA: CMBO, CMAK, CMSF, CMBN, CMFI = 5 Germany: CMBO, CMBB, CMAK, CMSF, CMBN, CMFI = 6 Poland: CMBO, CMBB, CMAK, CMBN, CMFI = 5 Britain: CMBO, CMAK, CMSF, CMBN, CMFI = 5 Canada: CMBO, CMAK, CMSF, CMBN, CMFI = 5 Soviet Union: CMBB, CMAfg = 2 Italy: CMBB, CMAK, CMFI = 3 France: CMBO, CMAK = 2 New Zealand: CMAK, CMFI = 2 Australia: CMAK = 1 Finland: CMBB = 1 Romania: CMBB = 1 Hungary: CMBB = 1 South Africa: CMAK = 1 Netherlands: CMSF = 1 Syria: CMSF = 1 Afghanistan: CMAfg = 1
  10. I was thinking Combat Mission:Black Sea-The Next War but I wouldn't be surprised if "The Next War" was already taken by some other game.
  11. In the 1980's there was a WWII Ostfront boardgame called Black Sea, Black Death by a company called People's Wargames, which I suppose is appropriate for a Company that IIRC only made Eastfront games. One person commented that it sounded like a game about the bubonic plague. You can never please everyone.
  12. So we now know the working name for the Modern Temperate Region game is Combat Mission:Black Sea. That's actually not a bad name, at least as good as Combat Mission:Battle for Normandy, though it rather implies a Naval Game. I thought I'd start a thread for your name suggestions for the game. Me, offhand, I can't think of any. If I do I'll get back to you.
  13. I agree we're never likely to see on screen troop carrying helicopters, though Charles' nuts are safe either way. It's taken longer than I expected to get fire and anti-aircraft fire as we had in CMX1, though when we do I'm sure it will be superior. The CMX1 series was groundbreaking but a lot of things in it were done half ass just to get them into the game. They don't want to do anything half ass in Cmx2. And anyway, I don't think troop carrying helicoptors would be more prevalent in a Fulda Gap game than they would be in CMSF or CM:Black Sea.
  14. Even if the Armies in CMSF II remain the same as the original game, Syria with rivers and bridges, more detailed buildings, weather (dust storms any one?), barbed wire, prisoners, and fire, which we're sure to have by then, will be a whole new world. A prediction: The base game will have both the US Army and Marines. The module will have the British, Germans, Canadians and Dutch. If it sells well we will get new Armies in a second module.
  15. I agree it implies it. I just don't think it's settled yet. I doubt they have even begun developing it yet and a whole lot can change before that happens.
  16. I don't read where that settles anything.
  17. So will or should CM:SF II be a re-do of the 2008 storyline or a present day NATO intervention into civil war torn Syria?
  18. I thought beaver tail was just a euphemism for- well you know.
  19. I have no inside knowledge, but I think Tank Riding is a long way off and will not be in the Bagration Game Family based on the amount of animations needed just to make it look right and as every type of vehicle would have to be coded and the riders animated differently for where the tank riders would sit and hang on.
  20. I've always felt the American-Indian wars would be a more interesting game of the same general period at the Combat Mission scale since you would have smaller units that would break down to "sub-squads" to fight. Lots of colorful unit types too.
  21. Actually IIRC Webwing is Brazilian. Moon is the German with I think some Polish background now living in the USA. There also an Aussie and a Spaniard in the group.
  22. I know he's busy doing other things, but Mord if you see this, it's not an attempt to get you to work on CMFI, but a thanks for the work you did on the other games. All the best Man.
  23. Just for clarify I don't believe that's even true is it?
  24. But what did they look like 69 years ago?
