  1. I posted this request deep in another thread but thought I'd give it more prominence. If at all possible please move the location of IED's from where they were in the scenarios in the original game. I still remember where some of them are. You wouldn't want to give me an unfair advantage. Thanks
  2. Mike, yeah I personally wouldn't have a problem if water wasn't added to the beach landing scenario, but others might. I'm mainly picking folks brains to see if other elements that weren't available in the Engine some 9 years ago could now be tweaked for realism, and also confirming the way the landing is represented is believable. It seems to be the case that it is. IIRC you made another beach landing scenario (Shores of Tripoli) that I enjoyed a lot. If I had one request for that, it would be to rearrange the IEDs as I still remember where some are.
  3. Capt & MoW thanks. One more question. The Marine campaign starts with a scouting force on the "beach" at 2:00 in the morning. I assume they have arrive by some sort of smallcraft. Is that SOP? One other thing. In the original game, the Campaign briefing says the landing is supported by elements of the 5th Fleet. Shouldn't that be 6th Fleet in the Med?
  4. @ Manowar & Captain Miller do LHAs/LHDs have Cobra Gunships for landing support?
  5. 13E= Field artillery fire direction control. Not sure if the MOS number has changed since my days (late 70's). Back then we still mostly used specialized slide rules and protractors with charts, as the stove sized computer (FADAC) would usually quit working whenever the track (M577) took a big bump.
  6. Will the new engine allow head cover mods of different shapes?
  7. Well treating things as if it were a real war adds to the immersion to me. I once did an OOB for all NATO forces involved. One can and people have created scenarios for other conflicts using CMSF as I'm sure almost everybody knows.
  8. If CMSF sells well (both to those buying the updates and new customers) maybe we might see a French & Italian module.
  9. The CMSF base game was released on July 27 2007. The Black Sea Battlepack was released on April 25 2017. So in roughly 10 years we had an additional 5 base games, 6 modules, 1 Vehicle pack 2 Battlepacks and 3 major Engine upgrades. What's been announced for sure? CMSF 2 (which I'll call a new game), the last CMFI module, except for possibly an elite forces module, and another module for CMRT, CMBS and CMFB. At the same pace of release in the next 10 years (after which I suspect Steve and Charles will be ready to retire) we'd expect to see another 7 more Game or module releases plus odds and ends. Say CMBS, CMFB and Red Thunder get another (2nd) module. That about leaves only enough time for the East Front 1943 to be covered along with the odds and ends. So it looks doubtful to me if we will ever see either early war or North Africa. This is not meant to be a big downer, as that's still a hell of a lot of content, and yes Steve might be laughing his butt off after reading this attempt at prognostication since only he and Charles, I would think, really know what's going on, but I thought I'd offer this assessment.
  10. Anyway if I can re-ask one question I posted above which really isn't directly a game question, but what sort of shore bombardment capability did the US Navy have in 2008 to support a Marine landing?
  11. Anyone willing and able to tell us if there was any significant change to the Marine campaign? I.e will CMSF 2 have working amphibious vehicles and will the Marines start offshore. And what shore bombardment capability did the US Navy have in 2008 ?
  12. IIRC CMBB had decent sales in Finland. Finns would require the least amount of new vehicle modeling. Any one know if Finland was using any non German vehicles by 1944?
  13. Just thought I'd mention Steve said earlier in the thread it's vehicle mods that will most likely not work as the models changed. Sburkes comment hints that building models may not have changed. Sound mods I suspect will be fine. I don't know if the soldier models changed.
  14. Speaking of which, what ever happened to Kohlenklau who always lobbied for it?
  15. In reality, in the Shock Force 2008 Syrian Invasion scenario as posited by Battlefront I would think the ability of the Syrian Air Force to get through to carry out an airstrike would be quite low. It wasn't until the NATO module that the feature in the game was even added IIRC. Perhaps BF just decided to do it as it was easy to code. I once suggested scenario makers could use the Syrian Air Force units to represent contributions by former Warsaw Pact, now NATO, countries to the war effort as they were still flying some of the same planes back then. :)
  16. Sorry if this has been answered already, but will the number of scenarios/campaigns in the base game and each module remain the same as the earlier releases?
  17. If the graphics are ready, it'd be great to see a screenshot of the Indian and French North African troops. Thanks
  18. ManoWar this has been discussed more than once before and Battlefront is firm in their position that CMSF is not a sandbox for other Middle-eastern conflicts. AND initially they had not intended to add any additional features to CMSF 2. We're all happy they bent that rule I'm sure, but their schedule is full with many other projects, so asking for features outside of the main focus of CMSF will probably go to the bottom of a very long wish list they maintain. I feel a bit hypocritical telling you this after enquiring into engineers disarming IEDs above, but we just have to dampen our expectations for new features a bit. That said I think modders and scenario makers will come up with new surprises for us for CMSF2 once they have the tools Engine 4 provides.
  19. Fair enough. Will nearby explosions set off IED's? I've tried plastering on suspected locations with 40mm in the past but haven't succeeded.
  20. Thanks Mike, I'm very happy to hear that it will be looked into. I'm also asking, and I know it would be a new feature. could/should engineers have the ability to mark/disarm them like they do mines? Thanks again.
