  1. Yes but how far can a laden swallow fly? P.S. Since we have palm trees, will they have coconuts?
  2. Just teasing Harry. I'm a birder myself. What the barely heard birdsong is in the background is not something I pay attention to when playing though. I'm also into Astronomy and though having the correct Moon phase and time of Sunrise and Sunset for a certain scenario based on date can be important, I don't pay attention to the Constellations even though they are in fact correct. I think that was a feature Battlefront added from a Third Party program. I'm also in the Dairy Industry, and so far Battlefront has had pretty much the right kind of dead cows. If not that would be easy to mod. Someone did do a Normandie breed of dead cow for CMBN which was an even better fit for that game.
  3. Seriously though, I always wanted an ocean sound background sound mod for some of the Marine Scenarios.
  4. I just hope if we get dead cows, it will be the right kind of cow or the game will be broken!
  5. Which became obvious to me when I watched with the sound on the second time.
  6. Folks, remind me please. Isn't there something about troops being deeper in the trenches than they appear to be? That said, if one does "hide" in trenches they offer a lot of cover. I'm thinking all that 40 mm going off in front of you even if only your head is exposed will cause a lot of casualties. More so then the WWII fire that could be put on trenches. So maybe that's whats going on.
  7. Understandable that uniforms would be a priority. Thanks again for doing this project.
  8. I was looking at Wikipedia. Perhaps BTR-60 for a stand in for the BTR 80? Just a thought. Of course unless you have tags the Syrian side BTR 60s would look the same, but that wouldn't matter if all you want is anti-Kurd scenarios.
  9. Thanks! I have good World Army TO&E for the early '80's from a Cold War miniatures game but my Googling has not turned up an equivalent for modern day.
  10. Any one know of a source for recent Turkish TO&E? I'm not asking for as much detail as Steve gets into, but mostly how many vehicles, squads in a platoon etc.
  11. Indeed it does, I should have read it before posting my question. I think your take on what Turkey would do in 2008 is a good one. Still, as stated in the article, US actions in Iraq were very unpopular amongst the Turkish population so that risking too many Turkish lives in the war against Syria by "the West" which had also recently rebuffed Turkeys integration into the inner circle would be limited. Still on the CMSF scale one could make pretty much any scenario one wished since the general one battalion max limit of the game is certainly a believable commitment. PS MIke I assume Turkey already had the 2a4s in 2008?
  12. Mike, great job as usual. You're spoiling us. I'm trying to figure out the best use for them. . Well as you know, the motivation for "our" war is the dirty bombs. The conventional war is over by June and the World economy doesn't go off the cliff until September. I know we can make up whatever scenarios we choose, but I prefer my what-ifs to be grounded in reality (no Sealion for me thank you ). In my limited perspective I can see Turkey committing enough of a force in June, even as a token to show it's full commitment to NATO (besides allowing full NATO access to deploy forces, which is a must for the NATO module scenarios), to come up with a conventional scenario or even a campaign. The possibility of eventually joining the EU was much more a possibility and motivator to Turkey at the time IIRC. Then of course there's the Kurds . If all this is not likely someone please correct me.
  13. What I'm wondering is, Turkey was already under the Erdogan regime in 2008. I'm not familiar with the basis of Sgt S.'s scenario but I'm wondering how committed to the Shockforce war would Turkey be in 2008? If they weren't very motivated to help drive on Damascus, perhaps the opportunity to enter Syria to smack the Kurds around would have been as tempting for them in 2008 as it has been recently.
  14. I don't want to hijack a tank mod thread any more, but was there a significant Kurd presence in parts of Syria in 2008 (the time of the Shock Force war) that Turkey, if it were not much motivated to go after Assad in our dirty bomb scenario along with the rest of NATO, would be motivated to "pacify"?
  15. It's not the size of the brain, it's how you code with it...
  16. Wow I just noticed Derkommisar had already told my joke. My apologies. Also some one used to send wine to the Battlefront staff. Some one send some to Mike so he will be more likely to post secrets accidentally.
  17. Sorry, that is not a monkey. That is a baboon. Know your primates!
  18. There was a mention about 3 weeks ago of at least more screen shots to be forthcoming. I hope that will still happen.
  19. Thanks for looking Mike. Maybe something to lobby for in a 5.0 upgrade.
  20. There's at least a couple of stock scenarios where both sides have uncons . Is there any mod tag that can be used so that both sides are clothed differently? Thanks
  21. I bow to your knowledge. Is that a ML or MS in the photo?
