  1. See thread "A windy day in the Syrian Countryside".
  2. You lost me on that one, but hey, if you want us to just take your word on it, so be it. You've got a game to finish!
  3. I assume street signs will be modable so we can put what we want on it. Also we'll need an Arabic grog to make sure the Arabic spelling is correct. Is that a dumpster in the corner?
  4. Are clouds in yet? I don't suppose you'd do another one where we can see clouds? Please!
  5. I suppose it all depends on how well the USMC and (likely) Brit Modules sell in the end as to whether we get anything else.
  6. How about he sends you the boots and you say maybe if you ever do a 1940 game, maybe you'll do an Norwegian module. And maybe the Danes too just so we could get those big Darth Vader looking helmets!
  7. Well you didn't piss me off because I didn't understand you. Too many acronyms. Please translate ! Oh and welcome to the forums by the way.
  8. Any order of preference? I think Drop Team will fulfill Battlefront's contribution to Space Lobsters.
  9. J Ruddy. I think no war will ever surpass WWII for its interesting variety of weapons and locations (not to mention great villians). But I can understand Battlefront's desire to try something new. Battlefront has stated, however, that only two of its first 5 CMX2 games will be WWII. They've not given the slightest hint what the other two subjects might be. Ancients and Fantasy tie for second on your list. I doubt ancients. I'm more inclined to make a wild guess for American Civil War. Fantasy is hot these days though. We might see Combat Mission: Elves vs Orcs.
  10. Another old thread resurrected. The original poster says Special Forces have been all but ruled out but I can't find confirmation of this from Battlefront other than the statement that module one will be USMC and module two will be another nationality with the Brits being a good bet. I know the mission of Special Forces is not to go head to head with a sizeable enemy force but they would be a nice bonus for scenario makers. Perhaps the TO&E is too variable for them to be in the game without a lot of extra work. And while we're at it shall we re-open this thread's discussion of night fighting?
  11. The new version will have three volumes. The first for tanks. The second for Assault Guns, tank destroyers and Self propelled Artillery and the third for Armored cars and infantry vehicles.
  12. The official answer from Battlefront. "We are planning on including Free French forces. Always were too. Just an oversight when typing up the webpages. Vichy French are on the back burner since it might prove more work than it is worth (their time was short and not all that worthy of CM sized battles)." There is a Italian to Vichy French Mod done by your truly available at CMMODS.
  13. This series of three books, out of print for 10 years, will be reissued in a revised and expanded version. Is any one familiar with the original editions and can recommend these?
  14. That's essentially it. BFC has said that the CMX1 games are done and to do any more work on them would distract them from CMX2. We are, however, getting (we hope) Combat Mission Campaigns so I suppose if you can offer them a profitable business plan to do something like your asking for they would consider it but the work would be up to you. Have any programming skills and capital?
  15. There was a suggestion by Other Means that casualties be represented by an actual figure that would lie on the ground and be considered "evacuated" if within some sort of command radius for a certain amount of time. This suggestion was a compromise of sorts between casualties being represented by only an abstract symbol such as a Red Cross and full control of Medics, which Battlefront was always completely against as being difficult to code and a distraction from what is, after all, a war game. Steve said Other Means' suggestion would be considered, and that’s the source of the quote in Other Means' Sig. All we can assume is that Casualties are represented by more then a Red Cross (unless Steve wants to give us another bone, hmmm).
  16. As an example of what I'm talking about. See Mike Dorosh's Helvetica font thread in the general forum. Some one made homemade Maus counters for Advanced Squad Leader. They're also available for Panzer Blitz/Leader. That's a great photo Jeff. Any one in it you care to name? I know there's a story in Rune's post. I'd ask but I'd rather see Steve working on CMSF.
  17. Some Links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortoise_heavy_assault_tank http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-28_Super_Heavy_Tank http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Tank_T29 Note I am not wishing for these in a game. It's just that the Maus gets so much more press. [ October 25, 2006, 08:54 AM: Message edited by: Sequoia ]
  18. One hears a lot about the German prototype Maus super heavy tank. Some have even wished the Maus was is CMBO or may make an appearance in a WWII CMX2 game (usually not too seriously). Why don't Allied prototypes such as the British A-39 Tortise or the U.S. T-95 or T-29 get the same attention? Is this another case of Big Cat (or Maus) envy?
  19. Steve, I'm sure Peter King of 1C U.K. should be able to help you.
  20. Thanks COG, and this would be a good time to make a donation if you haven't yet. I think I will again.
  21. That sounds excellent. Thanks for all the bones you've been feeding me.
  22. In CMX1 the largest armor formation one could select in the scenario editor was a platoon. Will we be able to select an armor company in CMX2 with its attendent C.O.'s and X.O.'s tanks that could take command of a platoon if needed?
  23. No it doesn't. Check out the link I posted above.
  24. No one is noticing the Paradox site is giving an approximate release date?
  25. Hmm. Read this Post http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6088156#post6088156
